What if the answers to life aren't always black and white?

Jill Reed thinks she knows it all, and as the advice columnist for her high school newspaper, she gets to share her wisdom on a weekly basis. She handles questions about everything from dating to choosing the right nail polish, and with the exception of a few bullies, everyone respects her opinion.

But when life throws her some curves she can't handle, she realizes she knows a whole less than she thought she did, and she'll need to ask others for their advice so she can make it through.

Loved this listen

This is not the genre I usually listen to, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Teen drama mixed with comedy and learning experiences. I highly recommend.

Cute

It took me a couple of chapters to get into it, but by the end I was really enjoying it. If I could I would give it 4 1/2 stars. I enjoyed witnessing the growth of the main character as she learned from her experiences. Cute book

A story of seeing the truth we hide from

I really enjoyed this story. Granted, it took me 4 or 5 chapters to get into it, but once Bruce blackmails her, I was hooked. I laughed! There are so many times that she has to do really embarrassing things. I think what I like most about the story was it is a story about finding one's own truth (we make ourselves believe the like sometimes) and seeing your own flaws and overcoming them and having good friends that help you through life. The love story was sweet also. A clean young adult novel with good morals.

Fun story, but neurotic main character

This is a great coming-of-age story. But I did find the main character a bit challenging to like. She’s a control freak who does learn her lesson and sees her life improve as a result. So that was satisfying!

I really liked a number of other characters in the book, especially Dylan.

Overall, sometimes you have to show how foolish people are in order to create enough of a transformative journey to be satisfying, and this book did accomplish that. So 4 stars!

Take My Advice

What a sweet teen story. It brought back memories of high school. I love the way the story worked out even with the conflicts. Narration was very good! Highly recommend for your teen. Mine is reading it now!

Incredible insightful fun YA story

An amazing fun touching and humourous young clean YA story. This engaging storyline had me addicted page after page with great smooth flowing narration in a fun plot. It has fantastic character growth and struggles. It flows thru a little of everything like how things can get complicated, there are some lessons learned, lots of emotions and surprising twists and turns, with a good sense of humor, including a few struggles that teens face today. An incredible must read and share story.

A fun YA story

This is a really cute YA book. Jill is a fun high school senior with some interesting walls she's built up around her emotions, something that she eventually comes to understand. Her journey is hard in some ways but as she's forced to "practice what she preached" she grows in ways she didn't expect and finds some good friends (and a boyfriend) along the way.

I listened to the audiobook, and Amanda McKibbin Ogle did a great job.

Sweet high school drama

This was a charming high school coming of age story, with a bit of romance thrown in. It was a great look in the mirror for the main character. She needed to actually use the advice she had been so freely giving. I like that there are consequences for her- she embarrasses herself and accepts that she is not perfect. It was sweet.
