About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Gordon Korman harkens back to his No More Dead Dogs days in this stand-alone that takes a tone more serious than you've ever heard from him before.

A boy who's been a bully and hanging out with the wrong friends gets a new start after a memory-loss-inducing accident. But can someone really change who he is, or will the old him merely come back over time?

So fun!

I am an adult, and occasionally I read a book for young adults or kids. I am usually disappointed, but not this time. This book grabbed me from the start, and I loved it right to the end. Yes, this would be a great book for a young reader, age 10-14, but I was riveted. It's a very fun, feel-good novel. It's about a bully who loses his memory and seems to become a different person. I found myself caring a lot about the characters, and rooting for the main character, Chase, to turn his life around. I think that almost any kid would love this book, and adults with some kid in them (like me, I guess) would too.

This story did not steal my heart

I read this because I was told to do so. Though it was mildly entertaining I would have to say that this would be good for my six grade boys. The girls however would find this to be a lackluster boring and probably all around too predictable.

Loved it even though I am not a child

This book was assign to my son for summer reading. I down loaded the book so we could discuss it. I really did enjoy it. The story was excellent and the variety of the narrators was great. It really did make the book come alive. Definitely worth a second listen... maybe even a third.. ❤

Sometimes we don’t really realize the story we have written for ourselves

What would it be like if you wiped you life slate clean and started again - that’s is what this book explores. The middle school’s cool kid who is also its meanest bully starts his life from zero when an accident wipes out his memory. Not knowing anyone, he takes time to learn about everyone, even those he use to bully and discovers he like them. They, however, don’t trust him, and, on the other hand, his partners in crime don’t trust him because he doesn’t want to join them in the bullying. Can a tiger change his stripes? Gordon Korman does a good job of showing the different sides of that question. I have found most of his other books to be a bit more humorous, but this one is on target for this subject. Highly recommend.

Hooked from the beginning...

The story was great, the narrators were great, and the lessons throughout the book were amazing. I see why this was so popular with young audiences. From the time we pressed play, my son didn't want to stop listening!

Great Life Lessons

I enjoyed listening to this w/ my kids- 13yo & 11yo. They really liked Brendan's character and got excited whenever he was doing another stunt. I really enjoyed the life lessons taught that YOU are in control of your own choices and you have to face the consequences of your choices.
