Publisher's summary
Conceived during a fog-drenched car ride with nothing beyond the windshield but a horizon-less void, Larry Fessenden and Glenn McQuaid created the acclaimed "Tales from Beyond the Pale," audio theater inspired by the vintage radio shows of Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles. Having previously released 10 studio-recorded Tales for Season One, Fessenden and McQuaid decided to up the ante and stage a second season of Tales before a live audience at the performance venue Dixon Place in downtown New York City.
Tales Season Two delves even further beyond the pale with eight explosive tales to tickle your fancy and curdle your blood. The series is produced by filmmakers Larry Fessenden & Glenn McQuaid; Associate producers Lisa Wisely, Jenn Wexler. In "Dead Air" by Simon Barrett, a college DJ stuggles with the demonic forces that haunt the hallways during a late night broadcast. Featuring the voice talents of Jonny Orsini, Joel Garland, Matthew Stephen Huffman, John Speredakos, and Alison Wright.

The series is produced by filmmakers Larry Fessenden & Glenn McQuaid; associate producers Lisa Wisely, Jenn Wexler. Joe Maggio's "Ram King" takes place in a nameless mountain village, just 16 years after the Black Death, in which Lassa, an inquisitive young goatherd, is falsely accused of witchcraft by the child of an all-powerful village elder. Lassa looks to the Ram King for comfort, a mythical beast, half-man, half-ram, with skin of blue flames…

Charlie Tower seeks refuge from the horrors of the Great War in Berlin's most notorious nightclubs. In great cities of the world, humanity congregates, and commerce, culture, and cosmopolitan sophistication blossom in their gardens. But in the shadows that lie beyond the broad boulevards and glare of electric lights, great cities give birth to something else. In these shadows thrives a dim underworld, peopled by nefarious characters brought together from every godforsaken corner of the globe. Can a lone policeman make a stand for decency against the godless denizens of New York’s most loathsome slum, or will he find himself consumed by the filth and depravity of nameless cults?

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Story
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

Fun and Creepy
At this time I've listened to 3 seasons of Tales and this is one of the best. Listen at night, so you feel like you are with the radio DJ as he starts his midnight shift at the new studio...
