In the depths of the Sixties and The Days Of Rage, a young newsman, accompanied by his pregnant wife and orphaned teenage brother, creates a paradise of sorts in a sprawling Venice Beach community of apartments, populated by students, artists, budding scientists and engineers, lifeguards, poets, and bikers with a few junkies thrown in for good measure. The inhabitants come to call the place "Pepperland", after the Beatles movie, Yellow Submarine. Threatening this paradise is 'The Blue Meanie', a crazy giant of a man so frightening that he eventually even scares himself.

I know. I’m Nancy. It was a strange nostalgia, reading about one’s times from an outside perspective. It took me awhile to come out of the magic into Present Life again, remembering these beloved friends.
So, if you were born too late, are a hippie at heart, or maybe just need a good chuckle to heal this current negative social and political churn, give it a try. It’s a bargain.
Allan, Carol, Roger, Jay and Jack, and Fahey, I love you to the Beach and back!
ps: The reader has not Allen’s voice, nor knew us, but interprets in good faith.
