Reader mispronounced French

I didn’t make it past the first few paragraphs because the reader’s pronunciation of names and words was so bad. It was frustrating, especially after listening to other Dumas books that were so well read. So, my rating of the story would probably be different if I had listened to the whole book.

The reading destroyed the story

The narrator's English pronunciation of French words and names (i.e. monsieur pronounced mon-sewer or Orleans pronounced as if it were New Orleans LA) was so confusing, distracting, and frustrating that I couldn't follow characters with whom I had been familiar with in earlier stories. Absolutely abyssal narration. A complete and utter waste of my credit and my time. I have enjoyed (or at least been able to listen to without exasperation and irritation) the 30+ books I have listened to on audiobooks, This is a notable trainwreck. I could not stand to listen past chapter 4. So. Very. Disappointed. So far as I can tell this is the only audiobook narration of this book available. 🤦🏻‍♂️
I would like my credit back... seriously this was awful.

Boring

the reader is absolutely boring, even Dumas barely survived this flat voice with no differences between the characters

Narrator

The narrator does not know how to pronounced French words. For example: Athos was mispronounced long A thos. Narrators need to read in the accent of the author.
