Rockstar Romance Worthy

AK Evans did it again with the whole Rockstar scene. Connor Craig's and Maxine Mitchell did an awesome job on this!
Killian, a guitarist in the greatest band in the world and Magnolia, like most young women crush on these guys. Little did she know that she would have the opportunity of a lifetime by meeting him back stage. Of course, all books have ups and downs and this one does not disappoint but can Killian overcome the terrible lies and untold truths that Maggie kept and can he save her when he is too angry and hurt by what he saw?
Definitely a whirlwind romantic story, with a happy ending!!

Enjoyable Listen

Terrible Lie, Book 5 of the Rock Stars and Romance Series

4 stars

Narrators - Maxine Mitchell and Connor Crais were excellent in their performance and made me feel connected to the characters and intrigued with the story!

Magnolia Glenn has crushed on Killian Scott, Rockstar since she was a teen. Attending a Violent Heart concert for her birthday with her best friend, Magnolia catches Killian's attention while he is on stage. He saves her from a situation and has the security guys bring her backstage afterward. I loved how they took some time to get to know each other and even though this was an insta love book it didn't all happen in one night. Magnolia has such a giving nature and puts her Dad's needs above her own. This has put her working a second job she isn't proud of. As things take off with Killian she finds it hard to speak her truth but when her omission "lie" is found out, Can Killian see past what he thinks?

Killian surprised me with his romantic ways and I enjoyed seeing him fall so hard! This was a great read that had some drama, suspense, romance, and great writing! I loved meeting those security guys and hope to see more of them in the future!! Can't wait to see how Roscoe will fall for his one and only love.

Linked with Harper Security Ops Book 2!!

We met Killian and Magnolia in Nixon and Mallory’s story told in Harper Security Ops book 2! I am so glad to get to hear this story and know more details about what was happening during the same time with these 2 :) FANTASTIC story and even though it’s linked, you don’t have to have already read Tempted to understand everything. However, if you haven’t read Harper Security Ops and you are looking for another great AK Evans book, definitely go read those after you are done with this one! Narration is fantastic and brings so much life to all of the characters.

Phenomenal!

This series just keeps getting better! Killian & Magnolia lure you into their story from the very first page. The elevator scene between them…heart wrenching. My heart literally broke for her. Then the rescue scene…all the feels. I’m so glad understanding and forgiveness prevailed and they got an amazing HEA. I also loved how her dear dad was woven into the story. His presence just added to their love.

Killian & Magnolia

I immediately connected with Magnolia having had a father with PD myself. I know the toll this disease takes on a person and family. I've seen it up close. Having had a father diagnosed with early-onset PD when I was a young teen and who eventually lost him when I was a few years older than Magnolia's 31 years, I can tell you the intervening years are HARD AF as you watch your loved one slowly be robbed of their physical, and in my Dad's case cognitive, abilities. PD treatments have advanced a lot since the late-70s/early-80s when my Dad was diagnosed, but it still ravages a person's body, mind, and family, and I was lucky enough to have a healthy Mom and older sister. I can't even imagine being in Magnolia's situation, having to do everything she can, on her own, to help her father and provide him with the best care and quality of life.

That said, I'm not usually a huge fan of rock-star romances, but I understand the appeal for some. I've enjoyed this author's audiobooks in the past, but I was mainly drawn to this book because of the narrator (Connor Crais). I found Killian likeable because he's following his band mates behavior and thinking about and starting to settle down. I love that he and Magnolia took time to get to know each other a bit before hopping into bed. I enjoyed their story as it was sweet, but also had drama and suspense -- love that! I enjoyed seeing that the Harper Security guys were included in this one.

The narration by Connor and Maxine Mitchell was great! They brought the characters and story to life and helped you see and feel just what the characters were going through. I also love to hear the whole range of male voices that Connor comes up with whenever he's performing a group of men conversing, be it band mates or the security team guys in this one. He's so great at that. A very enjoyable listen.
