About this listen

There is a ghost penis monster and a giant hell spider in this book, you've been warned!

In 1982, Moe killed a man while defending his son. The next day the man came back. In 1982, Moe went missing. The man continued to come back. In 2014, events are repeating themselves.

In a race against time, reason, and more time, Shane has to unwind mysteries of the past in order to save his friend Jason who has gone missing.

Ugh...that sounds heavy. While all the above is true, this book also has a ghost dick monster that stabs his ghost dick into a guy’s shoulder...seriously, that actually happens in this book.

Also, the main dude Shane, mentioned a couple paragraphs above, well he and his wife are having issues. They both want to bang more, but they aren’t good about talking about it, so it’s this whole thing. Anyway, they are cute together by the end, wow...is that a spoiler?

Anyway, this book has laughs, sex, monsters, mysteries, and a dick ton of other really cool stuff that I won’t spoil here. You want to be cool right? Well, then you better listen to this book, I mean all your cool friends already have. Don’t ask them, just trust me.

The first book in the Aurora Wasteland Literary Universe, which combines horror, sci-fi, and humor.

All books in the Aurora Wasteland Literary Universe are interconnected but are also stand-alone novels, and can be listened to in any order you’d like.

Baskerville Book Reviews

I loved every minute of this book. I knew I was going to enjoy it early on. The author’s sense of humor is much like my own, so I was constantly laughing while listening.

There are serious moments to keep you invested, there’s mystery and suspense. It can get a bit confusing with the jumps between time and from character to character. With my difficulty remembering names, I had trouble remembering a lot of the characters. It often took me a minute to remember who was being talked to or about, without context clues.

The writing style reads like a narration, which is great for an audiobook and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The ending left me bummed that the story was over. But the last few minutes made me aware of the Aurora Wasteland Literary Universe and I am absolutely going to be looking into all of them.

The narrator is excellent. I almost feel bad for him. I can’t imagine how many takes he must have had to go through due to spontaneous laughter while reading this. If you like the summary, you’ll like this book as they’re written in the exact same manner.

Interesting

Well this was a very interesting. Extremely surprising and I enjoyed the humor as well. Very well written and the narrator was amazing, loved the voice, and he preformed the story very well bringing life to the book. Definitely recommended!

snarky adventures with the bizarre

I loved this book! Especially, the fourth-wall-breaking snark of the narrator. The gallows' humor kept me in check throughout; although, you could get easily lost with the multiple timelines. I definitely will be reading more of the Aurora Wastelands book

Great Read & Listen

I got a free copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange
for an honest review*
Wow just wow! This book was beyond amazing! Beware, The
story will rob you hours from sleep and maybe, just maybe,it will
make you late for something.
The plot grabs you from minute one and you'll be thinking
about it even when you are doing other stuff. Be careful don't
get dizzy with the twists, but you are gonna love each and
every one of them! Oh! And I loved how Vaughn injected his own name onto the package he had sent to Shane earlier in the book.
In awe with the author BRAVO!
The narrating done by Joseph Vernon was spot on!

Literary acid trip.

There is no other way to say it. Tethered by Vaughn Ashby is a literary acid trip. Jumping back and forth in time, Tethered tells the story that is absolutely insane and much of it will seem totally random, there is in fact a unified story that will come together on the end. I actually liked the concept, but at times Mr. Ashby was just trying 'too hard' to be funny and/or shocking rather than worry about the flow/clarity of the story, which is a shame. I will say I enjoyed it enough that I might be willing to check out more of his work in the future. As for Mr. Vernon, this is the first time I've heard his work and have to say I think he delivered a solid performance. I received a copy of this audio title for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Wow!

I loved this book. Wow some really expressive dick issues. Not complaining just stating. I kept shaking my head from one part to the next. I have no idea how anyone can think, imagine, or dream stories like this up. Great job.

So unique. So good.

I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin.
Because it switches between two timeliness, 2014 and 1982, and has so many characters, I had to write notes as I listened. The narrator was good and easy to follow. He doesn't have unique voices for everybody, which could have been helpful.

The story was very entertaining! So funny, scary, snarky, creepy, vulgar, sexual, mysterious and unpredictable. Potty mouth language. Potty humor. I loved it!

Tethered is the third book I've listened to by Vaughn Ashby. Focused more on the Aurora Wasteland website, it made me want to go visit the site. I love the intricacies of Vaughn Ashby's books. Tethered moves forward in time, backward in time and plays with everything in between. I love that these stories make you think. I love smart stories and Tethered is exactly that.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.

A "dick ton" of both humor and seriousness.

Vaughn Ashby does a great job with Tethered, the first book in the Aurora Wasteland Literary Universe. There is a "dick ton" of both humor and seriousness. The characters are fun, some you like and some you don't, and there are quite a few of them. This is a pay attention book as it is written, or else you won't know who you are following! Love this book and the series, and look forward to more in the Aurora Wasteland! Audio Version: Joseph Vernon does an excellent job with the characters and general narration, adding to the suspense and humor.
