About this listen
The Lifestyle of a Gay Hustler in a Straight World fully details the life of Steven Smith. Steven went through turmoil at an early age, being raped by a family member, exposed to a life of hustling, trying to find love, and praying to God for help along the way. Steven thought this was all he had, until his life was turned around for the better. He went through hell and back and never gave up on who he really was. The men in and out of his life were only a preview of what was to really come.

Story
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Story
Bobi Conn was raised in a remote Kentucky holler in 1980s Appalachia. She remembers her tin-roofed house tucked away in a vast forest paradise; the sparkling creeks, with their frogs and crawdads; the sweet blackberries growing along the road to her granny’s; and her abusive father. An elegiac account of survival despite being born poor, female, and cloistered, Bobi’s testament is one of hope for all vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls caught in the cycle of poverty and abuse.

Sophia Chang is a badass of the music industry. As the daughter of Korean immigrants in predominantly white suburban Vancouver, she grew up shunning the “model minority” myth. Armed with a fierce sense of independence, she moved to New York City and infiltrated the world of hip-hop, yet remained mostly in the shadows of the artists she supported. With her debut memoir, Sophia Chang is finally ready to grab the mic for herself.

Story
A pioneer of LGBTQ studies dares to suggest that gayness is a way of being that gay men must learn from one another to become who they are. The genius of gay culture resides in some of its most despised stereotypes - aestheticism, snobbery, melodrama, glamour, caricatures of women, and obsession with mothers - and in the social meaning of style.

It leaves you wanting more!
I really enjoyed this one. It's an undiscovered gem. Fast paced and it has you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what's going to happen next. Even though this is a Non Fiction Life Story of the Author's life, it is well presented to us, and it made me miss E. Lynn Harris and The hit TV Series POSE from FX. I really appreciated the detailed explanation of how the Ball Room World works. He had a roller-coaster life from childhood and changed his life around and made lemonade out of lemons. I look forward to the second part. I recommend this book to anyone, and you don't have to be part of the LGBTQ Family in order to enjoy it, anyone can. 5 Star Rating across the board from me.

Needs Help
This has the potential of some good work. The reader, author, should have never attempted to present this work. He is evidently not a fluent reader and he does not possess the skills to cover it up. He should have sought out another reader that could have increased the rating of this book.
