Combined into one volume, this is the definitive collection of Tolkien's five acclaimed modern classic 'fairie' tales in the vein of The Hobbit, read by Derek Jacobi. The five tales are written with the same skill, quality and charm that made The Hobbit a classic. Largely overlooked because of their short lengths, they are joined here in one volume which reaffirms Tolkien's place as a master storyteller for listeners young and old.

The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Well-narrated Christmas poetry
I enjoyed listening to this Christmas poetry collection. Some old favorites and some that were new to me. I very much appreciated the reader as well. My only complaint was that it was too short!

Good stories, not keen on the narrator
A nice selection of Christmas poems. The narrator reads with conviction but I find his accent gets in the way of my enjoyment. Simon Cliffe's accent sounds what I think of as Cockney, and "to" sounds like "tu" (short "u"), "wild" sounds like "wiwde", and "pawing" like "poring". I prefer a narrator who has a more neutral accept or who can incline his accent to suit the selection...
