Publisher's summary

Ever wondered if there were more writings from the first few centuries by Christians?

Well the answer is - yes! There is much that the early Christians left us and they are available in this day and time. The New Testament is our rock to stand upon, but there are other works that we can glean from that are filled with godly wisdom and virtue. The 1st Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians is just that kind of work that can further your walk with Christ in this present day. Clement was a man that was said to have known the great apostles Paul and Peter. Can you imagine that? What if you could learn from someone that was familiar with the great pillars of our faith? Here is your chance.

Bless you in Christ's name!

Very Good

I’ve enjoyed listening to this, as part of my current study of the Early Church Fathers. The narrator was a very good choice. The content differed a little from the text I was working off of, but, that seems pretty common with these works. All in all, the audio version helped me to get more out of the text I’m using for the class. I never really realized how much of an audio learner I am until I got Audible. It really helps me to process the information.

Necessary holiness

These church fathers explain how that walking in holiness & love assure us that we are in Crist Jesus ..in contrast to modern day OSAS doctrine ..St.Clement writes in a reverential manner ..warning believers to walk in obedience to the Lord which is the proof of our true saving faith .

Enlightening

The narrator did an excellent job. The work is a portal into the mind of the Apostolic church. Clement of Rome was an associate of the Apostles, and had great insight into their mind. This is worth your money and time.

only one concern..

I dont understand why he spoke about the phenix bird as if it was a actual true story with this bird living 500 years and being resurrected etc etc.. it sounds as if he actually believed this fairy tail to be true, and that concerns me . especially when he used that fairy tale to convince believers they too will be resurrected, and I know we will be ,but that to me was a bad representation.

A 2000 year old Bible study

This book is not part of the Bible, but was written not long afterward. Clement was grounded in Scripture and included passages in this book. The things that were important to him and his readers are the same things that Christians find important today.
