As enemies lurk in the shadows, “Tough-but-tender cop Lindsay Boxer” (People) leads the Women’s Murder Club in the high-profile murder investigation of a billionaire San Francisco couple—will Cindy, Claire, Yuki, and Lindsay still be standing when the clock strikes midnight?

SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer, Medical Examiner Claire Washburn, Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano, and crime writer Cindy Thomas gather at one of San Francisco’s finest restaurants to celebrate exciting news: Cindy is getting married.

Before they can raise their glasses, there’s a disturbance in the restaurant. A woman has been assaulted.

Claire examines the victim. Lindsay makes an arrest. Yuki takes the case. Cindy covers it.

The legal strategy is complicated by gaps in the plaintiff’s memory—and the shocking reason behind her ever-changing testimony.

As Yuki leads the prosecution, Lindsay chases down a high-society killer whose target practice may leave the Women’s Murder Club short a bridesmaid … or two.

I’ve always love the women’s murder club books but they are losing their excitement and suspense. Same old same old. The last few have been meh.

This series is getting old.

This was bit as exciting or thrill packed as previous stories in this series. I was pretty disappointed.

Disappointing

I liked having two unrelated stories in one book. The stories moved along quickly and kept me interested in both.

Another great murder club

Not as good as when he wrote them alone.
I find very few calibrations work well.

I like the concept of 3 simultaneous plots, although at times it got confusing. Probably won’t read any other ones on this series.

Not a Thriller

Great story line and a wrap up of more than one case.
True followers of the Women’s Murder Club will really enjoy this book.

Patterson is back!

Fans of this series will enjoy all the interactions of our favorite characters. That said, the story is so lame. It goes back-and-forth between three different investigations and doesn’t devote enough time to any of them. Aside from a few advancements in character development, this is one you could easily skip.

All fluff, no filler

boring, repeat of previous book(s). even got a character re-entry wrong, we already knew about Alvarez transferring from L.V., but it was introduced as if it were new information. This was a sad addition AND left a stupid cliffhanger....

BORING
