About this listen

Wrong number. Right guy?

Once upon a time, Maggie Cooper lived for adventure. Jumping out of planes was child’s play. Now she can’t even work up the nerve to ask out her coworker. For a bit of self-therapy, she begins to text her recently deceased mother’s phone - the only problem is that the number has been reassigned and for weeks she’s been unknowingly texting a stranger her deepest thoughts and feelings. There have also been some not-so-deep texts, like the ones about her appreciation for her coworker’s butt.

When Chase Beckett, the unsuspecting stranger who has more in common with Maggie than he’d like to admit, texts back, Maggie is beyond mortified. But message after message and night after night, Maggie realizes that Chase’s wit, charm, and advice are exactly what the doctor ordered. Is it enough, though, to get her back up in the sky? And what about her heart? Can she risk taking a leap of faith for the man on the other end of her accidental texts?

Good, clean, swoony, romance. Loved it. Didn’t want to put it down. And Holly Warren is one of the few narrators that I like and who doesn’t ruin the story for me.

Great story and narration.

I like how the focus of the story was on the characters' grieving processes rather than jumping into bed together. There weren't any sex scenes, actually. I relate to how the male character processes things, so it was helpful to see how other people interpret that.

Well-developed characters

It was a wonderful story about people grieving in their own ways and finding love. I cried and laughed with characters. The narrator was great and really made the story come to life. If I could I would have given this story 6 stars.

Wonderful

Nice layers in a story that made a mistaken text more fun than it could have been

Sweet

The first few hours of this book had me thinking 'this is not what I thought it was going to be' but thankfully I was patient, and the texts started flowing!
But this book is so much more than texts and romance [I am all about the romance]. This book is also about grief and loss.

My only complaint is that to me the ending was rushed. I mean we went on this wonderful, detailed journey with Maggie and Chase but then in the end after the "typical" fallen out we only get a 10 minute 'wrap it up and put a bow on it' ending... don't get me wrong it was cute & swoon worthy, but I want more!!!

Wait for it...

Having lost my mom myself, this was a real tearjerker. Just so happened to be listening during the anniversary. Absolutely great character development and the sweetest book. It gave me all the happy feels.

So freaking sweet

This was absolutely adorable! I absolutely recommend this book and I loved every second of it. For the first time in a long time, Both characters were so sweet and kind and grew!! They figured out their relationship without MFC not being a brat or making demands, and the MMC figured out his trauma for HIMSELF and his family, and then realized that he was falling in love. I feel like all the characters were well rounded and written. It’s such a sweet book!

Adorable 🥰

Cute enough though. Weird how many details about Phoenix were in it, esp since I'm from there. Wish they hooked up sooner.

Slow burn, nothing steamy.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ New to me, author and narrator. This book was sweet and heart-warming. I didn't know what to expect. I enjoyed the clean romance aspect - Exactly what I was in the mood for. The two leads had wonderful chemistry. I will look for more books from this author.

Holly Warren's narration was well done. She had good variation in voice for different characters.
