About this listen

The Big Four

In this official edition from the Queen of Mystery, Hercule Poirot gets caught up in an international scheme. Now with a beautiful new series look.

Framed in the doorway of Hercule Poirot’s bedroom stands an uninvited guest, coated from head to foot in dust. The man stares for a moment, then he sways and falls. Who is he? Is he suffering from shock or just exhaustion? Above all, what is the significance of the figure 4, scribbled over and over again on a sheet of paper?

Poirot finds himself plunged into a global conspiracy, risking his life—and that of his “twin brother”—to uncover the truth.

Cards on the Table

In this official authorized edition from the Queen of Mystery, the wily Hercule Poirot is on the case when a bridge night turns deadly.

Mr. Shaitana is famous as a flamboyant party host. Nevertheless, he is a man of whom everybody is a little afraid. So when he boasts to Hercule Poirot that he considers murder an art form, the detective has some reservations about accepting a party invitation to view Shaitana’s “private collection.”

Indeed, what begins as an absorbing evening of bridge is to turn into a more dangerous game altogether.…

I could listen to “my dear Hastings” day and night and never tire. Masterpiece of mystery by the best writer of the genre.

Hugh Fraser is the best narrator!

Loved everything. All along tried to imagine who Agatha Christie was - such “modern” sensibilities, more than a 100 years ago… Just makes one feel humble about how we think of the past.

Incredible plots

Agatha Christie has never disappointed. I love them all. Some more than others. But I don’t have a favorite.

Always love a good listen

The Big Four is a pretty weak story and quite disappointing. One of Christie's early espionage novels. I would have been disappointed if I had only purchased that one title. Cards on the Table is much better.

1 Weak Book and 1 Strong Book
