About this listen

When a group of aliens called the Aruk abduct Rivinaig and several other children, they are thrown into the adventure of a lifetime. The Aunantet, a benevolent race of aliens, rescue the children, adopt them into their culture, and raise them as if they belong.

The children's new families teach them how to harness the full capacity of their minds, enabling them to defy the laws of physics and develop special mental abilities.

The past returns to haunt them as the Aruk plot revenge and regain control of their former captives. The fate of the entire galaxy depends on whether the children can maintain their freedom.

Plenty of science fiction and good descriptions that will keep you wanting to find out what happens next! Great for young adults looking to get into sci-fi.

Enjoyable to listen

What I loved about this book is that you can easily listen and learn all the sci-fi terms/races/lingo. It is a short book with a lot happening which is exactly how I like my books these days.

The production could use a bit of polish as there were several times when the cut in from splicing segments were jarringly different - almost enough to make you think there was more than one narrator. That said, the narrator was good and he did a good job giving characters unique voices. I listened at 1.1x speed and it still felt very natural without what I call a "speed reading" effect.

This is a great choice for a short book between some of the other epics and tomes available on Audible.
