About this listen

"I'll do anything to make sure she's safe. Even from me."

Naomi: All my life, I've been protected. First by my older brother, and now by a crew of women on a strange alien planet who insist on protecting my virtue. Who cares about virtue? I have to make the most of this situation, and if that means shacking up with a big blue guy, I'm not opposed. So when I find that the very alien who I'm convinced is my mate has gone off on a reckless mission, I risk it all to bring him back myself.

Gar: Anger doesn't even begin to describe how I feel when a fragile female puts herself in harm's way for me. And not just any female—of course she's the one I can't resist. But I don't deserve her, and I'll never bind her to my doomed destiny. Except now she's in danger, and if it's the last thing I do in my cursed life, I'll make sure she's safe. Even from me.

Contains mature themes.

Looking forward to the rest of the series. The books are so well written. The narrators sounded oddly like pixies but the story was still interesting.

This is one of the ones I was hoping to read. Loved this story, I'm glad ot was Gar. I was really wondering about his backstop. Great read.

Another amazing book for this series! Can't wait for the next book! Each book is standalone but is easy to follow in any order! New favorite author!

I just can't seem to get enough of this series! I eagerly awaited this book release and it did not disappoint. I was drawn back into the story instantly and was rooting for these two the whole way through. ❤️

Another banger!

This is my least favorite book in the series, but Naomi reminds me of someone I don’t like LOL!
Heather and Jeffrey are amazing and both do a fantastic job narrating!

Love to get into Gar’s head

In every book that has the female say "take me," I ALWAYS say out loud
"Where? I'm low on gas and you need a jacket," but never once has it been more fitting then her saying, "take me Gar." Probably my favorite part followed closely by "my general vaginal area" 🤣

Loved it like the rest

I was worried about this MMC after how he treated his brother's mate and how he was avoiding the chemistry/connection with a certain woman in the clan and I wasn't wrong. I liked how sneaky Naomi was and how resilient she was with trying to keep Gar from doing something unforgivable. I wanted to shake him so much and be like LOOK WHATS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!

I was happy they got their HEA and their mate status after everything they went through. I also wanted to wrap Gar in a blanket and hug and tell him he is worthy and to stop doubting himself. He is such a catch but he couldn't see past his darkness and insecurity. I am glad he finally got on board and wasn't just trying to protect her. He finally allowed himself the future he should have been getting, he couldn't give her up and took what he finally wanted. I loved their banter and back and forth, their snark and giving it to each other was pretty good haha.

We get more hints/news about what actually happened with the alien war and what maybe became of their loved ones who they thought they lost previously. This impending war is coming, its going to get worse with each of these books but I can't wait to see these baddies get what they deserve and maybe we get more reunions, which would be fabulous. This one I thought did better with the action/plot. We are on the edge of our seat the majority of the book, wanting to see how they get our of the conundrum, but the two reconcile, how the clan helps them out and ALMOST LOSING IMPORTANT CHARACTERS. Oh my goodness that ending! Ok no spoilers from me I promise hahah.

Narration was great again, I could tell the difference the narrator did with Gar's voice, it felt more authentic to our quiet gentle giant. I thought Naomi was done very well, captured her spitfire attitude, but her meek and insecure side as well when she thought she had the one-sided crush on her alien. I thought the battles and suspenseful scenes were performed well. I am reading the next novella so I can get to the next couple on audio. I am anxious but excited because I am wondering how these two will get over whatever hurdles are between them!

Gar needs all the hugs but also head slaps haha
