Have you ever attended a meeting that was run utilizing Robert's Rule of Order? If so, did you understand what was going on? Unfortunately, many people who attend meetings that are run more formally with Robert's Rules do not have a clue of what is happening. And the situation becomes even more complex and disorderly if the members are expected to use Robert's Rules, but they are not versed in how the basics are applied.
I decided to write an article for people who want to understand the basic rules that are used in meetings. What are these rules? They are the guidelines for conducting a meeting, allowing business to be carried out as smoothly and orderly as possible. Although I will not be able to detail the many nuances and special rules, the basics needed to conduct a meeting are explained that should help a meeting stay on track from start to finish.
Thus, if you would like to familiarize yourself with meeting planning in relation to the basics of Robert's Rules of Order, especially for small assemblies, then this audio is for you.

What did you like best about The Basics of Robert's Rules of Order? What did you like least?
The subject matter was extremely basic for such a complex subject, but the unnecessary speed in which it was presented made it overly complicated to listen to. All the author and narrator needed to do was leave a second between sentences and perhaps several seconds between subjects to allow time to process what was being delivered. I had to listen to much of it a second time which defeats the authors obvious priority which was to deliver this in as short a time as possible. There was not enough information in the short presentation to warrant spending the money unless you literally had to chair a meeting that same day and hadn't a clue where to start.Would you be willing to try another book from Dr. Earl E. Paul? Why or why not?
