This is the third story in the Tarzan adventure series. This venture into the wild kingdom thrusts Jane into the thickest of demoniacal plots as Tarzan’s nemesis, the dark and swarthy Rokoff and his rat-like lieutenant capture her with the intention of wreaking vengeance on Tarzan. But Tarzan assembles an awesome rescue squad; Mugambi, a giant native from the jungle who becomes the devoted follower and protector of Tarzan; Sheeta, a sleek and powerful black panther longing to apply fang and claw to those who would harm Jane; and the entire tribe of Akut, of the great apes, enraged and eager.

It isn't as obvious in the sample clip, but after 15 minutes or more the narrator's breathing-in before ever passage becomes very annoying, and some of his character voices are also unbearable.
I bought another version of this audiobook (here, on Audible) narrated by David Stifel that is MUCH better!
I foolishly bought 3 Tarzan books narrated by David Sharp, and have purchased other versions narrated by other narrators for almost the same price. I don't have much of a disposable income, but in this case I consider purchasing new versions of these audiobooks to replace the David Sharp-narrated ones well worth the price.

What would have made The Beasts of Tarzan better?
Better production and a different narrator. Paper shuffling in the background, and the loud breathing of the narrator is very distracting. However the major downfall of this recording is the narrator who is frequently tripping over his own tongue and whose style is often out of tune with the context and content. If you’ve listened to books by Edgar Rice Burroughs before, how does this one compare?
I've listened to the first two in the series, each with different narrators, and they were both far superior to this one.Who would you have cast as narrator instead of David Sharp?
David Ian Davies or Robert WhitfieldYou didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Edgar Rice Burroughs is an outstanding author, and the story might have been very good, but the narration was so distracting, I couldn't tell.Exceptionally disappointing
