The Book of Enoch has reemerged from the sands of time to shed more light on the background and context of New Testament. With many copies discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls, it is now apparent that this book was well-known and respected before the time of Christ. What did Jesus and the Apostles think of this book?
The evidence is in the New Testament itself that they knew the Book of Enoch well and often made allusion to it, or expressed similar ideas in their teaching. Although it might seem very strange to modern readers, it was not strange to the Biblical authors, as it was part of their literary world.
