About this listen

Arthur Walkington Pink was an English Christian evangelist and biblical scholar who was known for his staunchly Calvinist and Puritan-like teachings in an era dominated by opposing theological traditions. Pink was one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the 20th century. Pink's beliefs and teachings were largely Calvinist- and Puritan-based. Pink clearly brings us a scriptural analysis of what to expect from the second coming of Christ in a truly thought provoking book.

"The Redeemer's Return! Here is a theme which in this day is regarded by many well-meaning people as an ideal of visionaries or as the pet hobby of certain cranks. So grievously has the study of Prophecy been ignored, so little place is given in the modern pulpit to the exposition of eschatology, and so generally is the daily reading of the Bible neglected by those in the pew, that it is an easy matter to persuade the average churchgoer that the subject of the Second Coming of Christ is impractical and one that had better be left alone." Hard to listen to

The information is good, but the narrator sounds robotic, no enthusiasm with the subject being read. I’ve found myself drifting in thought because of how boring the narrator makes the book. It should be noted that I am a student of theology and minister, I don’t typically find books like this boring. Sadly, I’ve waisted a credit and will end up buying the book to read myself.

An exciting and also heart breaking subject!

This wasn’t a book that one could work through fast. I found it very thought provoking.

I was fascinated at how the views and frustrations of the church haven’t changed.

I also learnt new spiritual truths that had never highlighted for me before. The one truth that so impacted me was that only a quarter of the world will accept Christ as their saviour. As I am also working through a Bible Study of 1 & 2 Thessalonians, which also deals with this subject. The Bible study book included those Bible verses that emphasised what the day of the Lord will be like. And my heart was severely shaken. I know so many wonderful people, who don’t know the Lord and have no interest either. My heart breaks that they may be part of the three quarters who will know God’s wrath and judgement.

The two most prophesied events in the Bible is the 2 comings of Christ. The first has been fulfilled, so, we can be certain the second will be too!

deserves more than 5 stars

Good information for everyone; for those knowledgeable about The Lord and for those who still need to learn. Some repetition but in a helpful way.

WOW! Just amazingly WOW!

Every Christian period, NEEDS I repeat, needs to listen to this mind awakening teaching! He’s in line with Chuck Missler! Spergeon (?) and Jan Markel
And Amir Tsarfati! This was from 1940 timeframe when the church was just teaching light things that didn’t cause the person to know what is to happen.
I wonder ? Wow!

Incredibly Helpful

Some of my questions regarding End Times and the Millennium were addressed and became more clear. Although it is still challenging to resolve the sequencing of events, it is comforting to recognize, understand, and trust in the victory, we as believers, have in the end regardless. Clarity regarding the Trinity versus the counterfeit Satan was afforded me as well, for which I am grateful.

Best case for Dispensationalism

Pink makes the best case for dispensationalism you are likely to hear. Even though I disagree with the position, it is presented in a well thought-out manner with all of the possible prima facia backing you are likely to find.

My Redeemer’s 2nd Return

Arthur Pink, the writer has done a brillant job to share the good news of Christ return. He has followed the scriptures wonderfully and is a great read of our Savior’s love and plans for all to read and know His Love througout our lives of eternity. Hallelujah, our Redeemer Lives!

Can be useful, Audio is damaged

Mr. Pink is woefully confused. He labours intently under the illusion there are 10 lost tribes of Isreal. Anna, the widow who served in the temple, knew she was of the tribe of Asher. Ignored also is the fact that all New Testament writers acknowledge all twelve tribes.

If you can set aside this detestable heresy, there is the audio. Not the narrator, he is lively, interesting. The audio cuts out the last several seconds in many places. To follow along, you will need a copy of the book. Included to introduce additional confusion, the Revolting Version is often cited. This is not a narrative issue, but it introduces a damnable heresy.

But, the author is very clear. Scripture says what God means, AND means exactly what God says. Pointed out is the use of types, and the device in the Old Testament of the sacrifices.

Written in 1918, the Great War is mentioned. The horror of wicked business practices are introduced. Great numbers of soilders dying, and our human inability to obtain peace is well illustrated. There is value in this work, but your must be as the Bereans, and search the Scriptures daily, to prove whether these things be true. Acts 17:11 KJV.

After four hours of listening, I have given up. The fault in the audio is distracting me. It is my intention to read this book instead. I am grateful for the work being included in my Audible membership. I just can't work through the horrible audio. But, that is not the narrator.

biblical approach, well organized

wow. I've learned so much and yet I will still need to go back and review and make some notes.... pink takes a big subject and explains each specific aspect clearly, but most importantly, BIBLICALLY!! scripture after scripture, He let's God Himself explain our Redeemer's return
