Publisher's summary

What would you do if you humiliated yourself in front of a Naked Kitchen Adonis…and then he appeared in your bakery?

DAVID - I watched in horror as my sister shattered yet another poor guy’s heart… only this time, I can’t get sweet, sexy, straight Hunter out of my head. My daily latte runs to Moore Delicious, the bakery where he works, aren’t helping. And now I’m in a bind: my favorite cousin insists that I attend her wedding. With a date. So she whips up a half-baked scheme that will piss off the family that disowned me and secure an ally by my side: ask my sister’s ex to pretend to be my boyfriend. The question is, will Hunter agree to play along?

HUNTER - Six months ago, I walked into my apartment to find a gorgeous man standing in my kitchen, wearing only a towel and a smile. And what did I do? Instead of saying hello and joining him in nudity, I stormed into the bedroom and accused my girlfriend of sleeping with her brother. To be fair, I didn’t know he was her brother at the time, and she really was cheating on me (just not with him). So I hide in the back every time the Naked Kitchen Adonis visits Moore Delicious…until the day he asks for more than his usual coffee, cookie, and suggestively-shaped banana. His proposal is intriguing. I like it. And him. A weekend spent serving up a little revenge while cozying up to the N.K.A. is more than tempting. I am bisexual, but if things heat up, David will be the first man I’ve ever slept with.

Ingredients in The Boyfriend Recipe include a sweet and spicy fake relationship, a scrumptious marketing exec, a mouth-wateringly handsome engineering student, as much MM romance as you can handle, and a frosty HEA. It contains no cliffhangers, is gluten-free, and has no GMOs, but is sprinkled with a few Moore nuts.

Although not part of the Moore Romance series, this book does occur during the summer of A Chance for Moore.

Fun and flirty

This is a fun, flirty story that revisits some favorite friends from the Moore family and also introduces some new ones. (Note: I absolutely LOVE any story that includes Julian Moore, even if it's just a cameo.^^) And, yeah, I have a new favorite acronym in NKA. (No, it doesn't stand for Now Known As.) The characters of David and Hunter are adorable, there is a cute gay for you type theme, tense family dynamics, and always a HEA.

The narration was pretty good, but Hunter's voice seemed to morph into Julian Moore sometimes.

Gluten free and non-GMO! :)

If you haven't read/listened to the Moore series first, I would start with this one because it is a standalone and happens during the middle of A Chance for Moore.

This was such a sweet story. When David approaches Hunter to act as his boyfriend for his cousin's wedding, he just thought it would be a great way for them to get back at David's sister for cheating on Hunter, again. It turned out far better than could be expected but of course, it took a little bit of help from friends and family.

While I think Nick did a great job narrating the story, it was a little weird to listen to at first because I had listened to the Moore series first, which are narrated by someone else, so it took a bit to adjust to different voices for Logan and Julian Moore.

Hunter and his NKA, just perfect!

I have read this book and now listened to it being narrated by the awesome Mr. Russo. I very much enjoyed this cute little story. Hunter and David are perfect for each other and I absolutely love the Moore family so getting to see them in this story was a bonus. This is a very low angst, sweet story that will bring a smile to your face and make you laugh on more than one occasion, perfect for a quick intermission to lighten up everything else!

Super Cute & Sweet

This is a super cute and sweet quick story that I really enjoyed. Although it is a short story it is well developed and the characters are wonderful. David and Hunter make a great couple and I love watching them progress from fake to true boyfriends. The narrator did a spectacular job with all of the character voices and with the story itself in expressing and portraying all of the emotions. The First Sentence Had Me Laughing Out Loud

Alex Miska was fantastic with this book, especially the first sentence of the book she had me laughing out loud and that never happens. So, this is the start “What would you do if you humiliated yourself in front of a Naked Kitchen Adonis… and then he appeared in your bakery months later?”. You kind of get some of this from the Blurb, but I was unprepared for this to be the first sentence and I thought it was a great opening. This book was well written and thought out. I read it in one sitting.

I Thought that David and Hunter were wonderful characters. They are well thought out and developed. They are sweet, funny, sexy and adventurous. David calling Hunter “Hun” for some reason I found erotically sexy and sweet. Two parts of the book that I liked are these. “Yes, Professor Kimball. I understand now Can Boyfriend David cone out and play, now?” Hunter asked with a cheeky smirk….” And then Second David dreaming, “Hunter was a mystery wrapped in a crepe slathered with Nutella.”

They first meet when Hunter accuses his girlfriend of cheating on him with the Naked Kitchen Adonis (NKA) who turns out to be David her brother. Turns out she was cheating just not with David so bye bye girlfriend. David shows up at the bakery where Hunter works. Hunter being totally embarrassed hides from David until Julian a friend/coworker makes him talk to David.

After Hunter talks to David I like when he goes home and sees his friend Sean and this is part of that conversation. (He narrowed his eyes, “What are you up to? Hunter, I leave you alone for twelve hours…”” David’s recruited me to be his boyfriend at a family wedding this weekend,” ….) For the rest, you will need to read the book which is totally worth it. The story moves along with moments of with friendly family, unfriendly family, a wedding, meddling coworkers and family and lots more. I loved the coat closet scene it was a bit anticlimactic, but I liked that it was unpredictable.

The narration was good it wasn’t monotone and there were different voices for each character. I loved this book and I would absolutely recommend it as a must read and listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Cute story

I liked this cute and sweet novella. Author did a good job with fake boyfriend relationship plot and made this story interesting and funny. I liked David and Hunter, they were both entertaining characters and their interactions and relationship development were fun and engaging. Narrator was great and did an amazing job giving voices to main and side characters. The Boyfriend Recipe was my first book by this author and I am going to check out other books by Alex Miska. I recommend this audiobook to everyone looking for a short sweet no angst story with good writing and great narration.
