USA Today best-selling author Stephanie Laurens adds a dynamic, sweeping tale to her extraordinary adventures.

They're bold, courageous, resolute . . . ex-officers of the Crown united against a deadly traitor known only as the Black Cobra.

Shipwrecked, wounded, he risks all to pursue his mission only to discover a partner as daring and brazen as he.

Fiery, tempestuous, a queen in her own realm, she rescues a warrior—only to find her heart under siege.

Bound by passion, linked by need, together they must brave the enemy's gauntlet to win all their hearts' desire.

Best so far of the series

Of the three books so far in this series I definitely like this heroine the best. She’s a little thickheaded, but no wilting violet. Creative action scenes. Some might find there are an excessive number of love scenes, can’t say that I disagree, but when you read Stephanie Laurens, you know what to expect.

Deserving Winner

This won an audie for best romance and the story was great. I liked the narrator but no one can compare to Phil Gigante's Highlander or Jessica Almasy's Playing with Fire. I will definitely check out this author's other books. The book did not rely on a misunderstanding to drive a wedge in the romance and how refreshing is that. Strong female character is always welcome. Leather pants anyone?

The Best of the Series

Of the 4 books in the series I liked this one the best. Interesting plot, and strong, positive characters. Truly sizziling sex scenes! Simon Preble is great, as always. You don't need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one. It's good enough I had to stop housework to listen to it.

Good series

Enjoying this series but I feel that the steamy parts are too long and distracting. It’s a great story and Simon Prebble enthusiastically narrates.

Passion, Action and Drama Galore!

The third installment in the Black Cobra quartet, which only gets better! What a marvelous imagination you have Stephanie Laurens! And your attention to detail is both commendable and convincing. More please!!

Fans of Simon Prebble, will not be disappointed by his heart-stopping, goose-bump raising passionate voice! -I just adore listening to him! Between bouts of fanning myself and sitting on the edge of my seat as the drama and action unfolds, I'm both exhausted and satisfied by the time I finish one of Ms Laurens wonderful novels!

Listened as stand alone - Got to get rest

I saw it was part of a series, just needed something from a trusted author for the journey. As expected a really great book, well developed characters no simpering sops and a great plot, the further into it the more I wanted to know what else had gone on, so although it is great on its own, I need to find the rest and help capture this Black Cobra person.

WoW!

I am a Stephanie Laurens fan. Her books have a good dose of passion along with a good story line. The Black Cobra Quartet books have been a pleasure to listen to, but the Brazen Bride is by far my favorite book so far in her series. If you like good love sceens this is a definate buyer.

what dribble!!

I loved the Cynster series, and Simon Prebble is incredible, BUT.... are you kidding? this new series has been a little ambitious in trying to add an element of drama, mystery that leaves you relying on each book to learn something new as the mystery unfolds -
the first two in this lot were ok - a little all over the place, but ok.
this one is comical!!! listen, we all like the trashy elements of Laurens books, but this is OTT (over the top) the woman is a nymph! and nothing happens that is worth listening to until chapter 17 and 2 hours to go!
I really hope that this is not representative of the next installment as that would really bite. this is the throw-away in this series, but sex scenes every 15 minutes may keep you interested until the final 2 hours.
the multi adjective language is really taken to a new level here... "she was absolutely, undeniably, irrevocably his, and he was unconditionally, beyond any doubt, forever and eternally hers... yada yada" it would go on and on! i think the book would be a good 2 hours shorter if just 2 out of 5 of the adjectives were left out throughout.
no character buildup at all and unrealistic on this guy, he was found almost dead on the beach by morning and vehemently demonstrating his manhood by midnite!
still in for the next one tho, and hoping this was a slip of the pen.

OOPS!

I usually enjoy Stephanie Laurens' books, but this one nearly defeated me. The first half of the book flirts with pornography. It seemed to me she didn't have much plot and needed to pad out her book. After countless encounters it was small wonder Logan and Lynette had little energy to devote to anything else. To be fair, the second half of the book carried the plot to the finish. Can I recommend this? Well, no - stick with the Bastian Club series or the Cynster series.
