Well written, well developed storyline. As usual Stephanie Laurens keeps it juicy. This book has Romance 💘 Drama 🎭 Mystery and with Simon Prebble as narrator just makes it perfect 👌

Another Stephanie Laurens Masterpiece!

The 4 main characters are great and very likable! Nobody ever hates the other. They just have to learn to overcome their own fears and doubts. Very satisfying ending when the mystery of the kidnapped boys is solved and justice reigns.

A fun, satisfying Romance

The partnership between Penelope and Barney Adair is pleasantly stronger and more nuanced than many of the couples in Stephanie's books. Of course I love all the Cynsters, and Cavanaughs too.

not just your alpha male hero

For the most part I like Stephanie Laurens books but she drones on and on. If character A asks a question of character B, B takes ten minutes to think about it and by the time B answers, I have to go back to see what the question was.

Long winded

Wonderful story of Barnaby Adair trying to help Penelope find her missing boys from villains, attempting to make the boys burglar boys. Showed Penelope as being a very smart woman, able to make suggestions to help the case.
The narrator did an excellent job.

Romance and intrigue

Love the storyline & the patience of Barnaby to wait for her love. The exchange between them at end was excellent. Only negative was the explicit sex scenes, not necessarily to make a good romance book.

Very Entertaining!

The end of chapter 20 is missing. There is a jump in the story and it is quite confusing.

Great, but...

I thoroughly enjoyed this read of Stephanie Laurens. It is one of her older books ….i think there are 4 (?) books in this series. And every one of them is excellent. Barnaby and Penelope fit together like peas in a pod.

The book was the standard Cynster sequel.
I really enjoyed the way the two main characters were friendly with people who weren't of their own social standing.
It was aso very refreshing to see another couple fall in love with each during all the hoopla that was going on.
It would be really nice to see the characters take another bold step and interact across the racial divide. After all, the Cynsters and the Ashfords are "Trend Setters", and they'd know just what to do make a change that would cause those around them to think about their behave in a positive manner.🤔

This was a very good book.
