About this listen

Colonel George Washington's perilous experiences in the French and Indian War are chronicled in this riveting account of God's providence and protection.

The only officer on horseback to avoid being shot down, young Washington openly attributed his miraculous escape from harm to the intervention of a sovereign God. A story once founded in student textbooks, this awe-inspiring adventure is recaptured in a modern edition.

Excellent

An account from Washington’s life that continues to show God’s overwhelming providence in his and the other Founders lives.

Providence Recognized

The historical account of America's founding father and the guidance by the hand of his Father is a historical recollection that needs to be returned to the hall of education in America.

Annoying sound effects

It just distracted from an otherwise wonderful story. It made it hard to hear the test. It did not add to the experience. I don’t mean to be negative about the product, but I wasn’t listening for the show... that should, at most been background. It was not. The story was epic. Thank you for that.

Read it

Great short story, never heard much about the French and Indian war in school and definitely didn’t hear about the incredible account of Washingtons providential shield. Will probably relisten again one day!

Inspirational!

I never knew of this history with Washington.I knew how my people fought and it was pretty brutal but i never knew of a natives convo with Washington and the protection over Washington.I wished the book was a bit longer though but nonetheless very interesting.

Excellent book, but audio issue in last chapter

Like other David Barton books I've read, I enjoyed listening to this book very much. It had a lot of good information in a short amount of time (always a plus). My only complaint is the audio in the last chapter was scratched and for about a minute or so and I could only hear half of what was being said and at a critical moment. Otherwise the performance would have earned a 5 instead of 4 stars.

A True American Hero

This will documented and eye witnessed record of history is a rich blessing to every patriot. There can be no doubt that our country was guided into existence by a team of hand picked men who together were able to discern God's hand of providence when He moved. For this I am forever grateful to both God and His humble servants.

Excellent!!

The historical account and telling of these events is a testimony to the ever enduring struggle of man with God and of God's ability to keep a righteous man in the face of the folly of men and of evil.
At times there were skips or static interference in the playing of the story. If this is from Audibe or the original recording, I dont know, but I will find out. I'm buying this recording, it was such a powerful story.
Parents should review this first. There are graphic accounts of war that may be too disturbing for children.
