Publisher's summary

With what he believes to be the most personal mission of his career behind him, American covert operative Chase Fulton answers a telephone call that will change his life forever. Bonaventure, the antebellum mansion that had been in his mother’s family for over 200 years, is on fire. Could a priceless heirloom rescued from the fire become the foundation on which the rest of Chase’s life is built?

The arson investigation points the team in a terrifying and heart-wrenching direction when clues discovered in the carnage leave little doubt as to the arsonist’s identity. With trust betrayed and old wounds ripped open, Chase and his team must face impossible odds to wade through the lies and uncover the truth of what really happened at Bonaventure Plantation.

As always, things are never as they seem in Chase’s world of deception and duty. While battling not only to recover his home, but also to save his own life, he must find a way to answer a whirlwind of questions following the horrific loss of a powerful and trusted ally.

From the weathered Outer Banks of North Carolina, to the unforgiving streets of Buenos Aires, the team expands, old enemies reemerge, and alliances are put to the test in this, the 12th installment of the Chase Fulton Novels series.

Overall, The Burning Chase is a gripping thriller!

"The Burning Chase" by Cap Daniels is an intense and heart-pumping thriller in the series that always takes me on a wild ride! From the Outer Banks of North Carolina to the streets of Buenos Aires. The story follows as the team grows, and they work to discover and punish those who destroyed the historic Bonaventure mansion in the fire. As the investigation heats up, old enemies resurface, and the team must navigate through dangerous territory to uncover the truth.

The characters are compelling and well-developed, each with their unique strengths and weaknesses. The setting is vividly described, making readers feel as though they are right there alongside the team as they "chase" down leads and follow clues.

Overall, "The Burning Chase" is a gripping and well-written thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. Cap Daniels has crafted a truly unforgettable story that always leaves us readers wanting more!"

Great story and great narration

Still loving this Chase Fulton series. The new narrator took a bit of getting used to in book #11 but this one was perfect. I love how PJ does all of the character voices. It really felt like there were different people having conversations. Great story Cap and great job PJ.

Burning House

Seems like I'm getting several stories blended into one title and that's probably true more than not. These Chase yarns are too short to be novels but the telling is what keeps me coming back. I would prefer that the constant crisis with Penny and her insecurities over Anya would go away. Love both and Penny but don't buy because of them. Don't think the government influence with the rebuilding of the team base is a good thing but will probably be interesting.

The author has written another great novel

The author has written another fantastic novel and is full of intrigue and suspense. The narration is very good but could do without all the he, she and I saids!

Painfull: books 1-10 are outstanding & 11 on, yuk.

The first 10 books with the original narrator were pretty good. It is almost like book 11 forward that someone else is writing the books. The phraseology is cliche, cheeky and painful reused over and over. The narrator is competing with the original narration, which is impossible. The new narrator makes the characters sound like hicks and whiny individuals. I’m currently on book 13 and I just can’t do it anymore. Book 11, 12 & 13 are a dive off a cliff from the first ten books. Book 11 on, makes this highly elite team makes mistake after mistake and act like rookies. The ethics and morality of an assassin team is not dealt with properly and are portrayed as weak individuals and the ethics are not consistent from chapter to chapter. Finally, the new narrator and his portrayal of Penny and the writing of Penny in books 11 forward make me hope that Penny gets hit by a falling asteroid. No man would stay with this whiny wench. The books have become hideous, and I just can’t take it anymore, If you want a great read or listen and haven’t done the books one through ten, I highly recommend those. Also, in books 11 forward the description and incessant returning to how to fly aircraft is very annoying. As pilots say "just fly the aircraft".
