About this listen
Michael St. John never lost a criminal case. He wasn’t a nice guy. He cheated his clients, destroyed criminal evidence, paid off judges, and ran around on his wife. He was an albatross around the neck of the Richmond Police Department.
The District Attorney’s office loathed him until they found his mutilated corpse one beautiful, crisp fall morning, after an unusual outburst in Court the day before. Little did they know that Attorney St. John’s body was key evidence in a far more heinous crimes to come. Mic, K9 Angel and Dottie must solve this case before all three of them die.
Mic, K9 Angel and Dottie must work quickly… before it is too late!
”Gripping, suspenseful and chillingly real true to life crime.”
“I love this series, Gripping, compelling and unforgettable!”
“This series rocks! I love the characters and hero dog Angel! Lucci’s characters are memorable, and the plots expertly drawn.”
A Woman of Valor Novel

5.0 out of 5 stars
A thoroughly engaging story populated by exceptional characters

“The Case of the Very Dead Lawyer”, the fourth crime thriller in author Judith Lucci’s Michaela McPherson Mysteries, brings back ex-Richmond cop Mic, her faithful retired police dog, Angel, and the amazing Countess Dottie, her investigative partner, in a taut, fast-paced and scary novel that will keep readers up late as it races towards its climax. An old and very deadly enemy resurfaces as Dottie and Mic are hired to investigate the death of the book’s title by one of Dottie’s friends. Matters soon become extremely complicated as their investigation progresses and a much bigger picture emerges.
Once again, author Lucci treats readers to a thoroughly engaging story populated by exceptional characters, now so familiar to her fans, from previous books in the series, that they feel like family. If anything, Countess Dottie seems even more irascible in this outing that in the previous books, but her scenes are always entertaining and bring a smile of enjoyment to this reader’s lips, a nice contrast with the villain’s own mortiferous manoeuvers.
A great read, recommended for all lovers of crime fiction.

Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Story
Officer Luz is lucky she still has a job after tasering a male colleague where it counts the most. Sure, he had it coming - which is why the police chief is giving Megan a second chance. The catch? Her new partner can't carry a gun, can't drive a cruiser, and can't recite the Miranda Rights. Because her new partner is a big furry police dog. So that's what the chief meant when he called Megan's partner a real bitch...With Brigit out on the beat, Megan is writing up enough tickets to wallpaper the whole station.

Story
It should have been a routine investigation. Instead, DEA K-9 agent Adam "Deck" Decker watches in horror as one Denver hospital seems to be ground zero for overdoses of a new drug. Now Deck can only hope a certain ER doctor will help him and his canine partner track down the source. Dr. Tori Sampson has her reasons for not trusting federal agents, especially ones working for the DEA. But the rash of overdoses—including a heartbreaking case involving a teen—is alarmingly high. And the new opioid is not only extremely dangerous, it defies all the usual medical treatments.
