I’ve enjoyed this series so far with only a few issues. However, the murderer in this one was obvious and the how was as well and the why. Also I have to add that although it was supposed to be funny, the whole vegan thing was absurd. I’m not a vegan but I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 11. I would never impose my way of eating on anyone! I cook steak and smoke ribs for my hubby among other meats. Most vegans and vegetarians don’t expect other people to eat like they do. It would be the same as expecting a vegetarian to eat prime rib just because you do.

I really love the mystery series and this was no exception. The way Jenny Starling solves the murder is so good, it keeps you guessing and really love the meals prepared by fhe cook. The everyday life of the castle was very interesting too. I will definitely be reading/listening to more! The narration was excellent.

I really like these books I am knew to this author but I think her characters are well written and the plots are grand! I loved Henry!

Freelance cook Jenny Starling has an intellect even more impressive than her cooking skills or her dramatic appearance and isn't hesitant to wield it along with her powers of observation and deduction. Even if the constabulary become a mite testy upon finding out that she's in residence. The mystery itself is somewhat convoluted and full of red herrings, surprises, and twists, including the antics of Henry the tortoise. I love this book and this series!

This is another well done book by Faith Martin. The mystery is wonderfully puzzling and the performance is a pleasure to listen to.
