Publisher's summary

Unwrap the wondrous gifts of Christ and Christmas in this heartfelt novel celebrating love, faith, and family.

At one time, Elise Silverstein’s New York City dreams seemed nearly within reach. But now that her dear husband has died and her money is running out, she reluctantly returns home to the small town of Crystalline Falls.

Hunter Flynn is restless. Expected to work on his dad’s Christmas tree farm with his older brothers, he dreams instead of traveling and settling in some tropical location where he can enjoy the sun and the surf and keep his troubles at bay. At the very least, he needs to find some way to make a contribution and to make a difference in people's lives.

Sabrina Townsend knows what she wants, and nothing will stop her from getting it. And this year, she’s decided she wants Hunter Flynn back. If only Elise Silverstein would get out of the way.

When Hunter runs into Elise, who broke his heart several years ago when she married Wesley, he is reeled in once again by her captivating personality. They were so young the last time they fell in love...and foolish. Now, he is tempted to let himself become all wrapped up in her again. But wouldn’t that be a colossal mistake?

An enchanting story about the joy of Christmas, the importance of family, and falling in love in the most magical holiday season of the year. This is a sweet, contemporary, clean romance with Christian themes, perfect for holiday listening.

Sweet, Christian second chance Christmas romance

Clean and sweet. The main characters are very religious and talk about Christian beliefs but it adds to the story. Great, second chance romance.

Great holiday romance

A sweet, clean, Christmas “Hallmarky” romance. I LOVE Hallmark Christmas movies so listening to this story was perfect for me. I loved this story. Pamela Gregory does an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality.

Interesting Story

I had a free audio book copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Nikki Larson did a great job with the characters and plot of this Christmas story. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. The problems the characters encountered and overcame were a great addition to the story line. I enjoyed the emotion involved and the time spent.

3.5*

Couldn't quite give it a four. Main character Elise seemed a little shallow to me. While Hunter still carried a torch for her, it seemed to me like the relationship moved pretty quickly considering the trust factors that were evident. It was a sweet, clean and cute story,

Narration was good.

The Christmas Promise

This is my first book by this author. While it wasn’t my favorite, it was still a quick short Christmas story.

Second chance at a new beginning

Years ago, Hunter knew he would marry Elise one day. They were too young then to get married, but he knew it was meant to be.

But then things changed. Elise met someone, fell in love, got married and started a family. And it wasn't with Hunter...

Yet he's never been able to find anyone who fit him quite as well as Elise. And now she's back in town; widowed and a mother, trying to start all over again after the unexpected death of her husband.

It was a beautiful thing to watch as love blossomed anew for both Hunter and Elise, and they took hold of their second chance to be together.

This is a great clean romance that was very enjoyable to listen to. I had two slight qualms. One was that it never addressed what had happened to them earlier in life. It seems to be a proper airing of that would have been in order, given the pain that it caused. It would have made for a more satisfying story, I think. And the other was that Elise's daughter should have been a bit older, given her dialogue and perspective. Even two years older would have been much more believable.

But overall, a very sweet story and a wonderful narrator!

A second chance Christian romance

This was a sweet Christmas Christian romance. I enjoyed the story. I didn’t really like the main character Elise. To me she thought more about herself than she did of Hunter. She expected Hunter to make sacrifices for her that she wasn’t willing to make. She was so insecure when she was the one that broke up their relationship the first go round. She acted like Hunter wasn’t trustworthy when he never questioned her potential loyalty. And they jumped back in a relationship like they hadn’t been apart for years.
