Series Continuity

The best thing about this series of books is keeping the same characters and personalities. It helps with the flow of the stories. Characters are nice, but they could be developed more.

The worst thing about the series is Vitual Voice. There was no inflection in the story and might well be why I felt like the characters were not developed. The droning of the story put me to sleep several times & I had to find the last thing I remembered prior to falling asleep. Obviously the stories were compelling enough I wanted to complete the series.

Calamity Corners series

I got this series because of the story line - it was different - a group of paranormal entities had an alliance but it was threatened. - While I like the story I had a few strong disappointments:
1. the virtual voice was a HUGE disappointment for me. It lacked the lilt for expression that I enjoy with a regular narrator. Any sarcasm or double entendre were delivered flat and I almost missed it, and
2. I found the story often difficult to follow because the virtual voice didn't change the tone from one character to the next making it difficult to know who was speaking between characters. (ie 2 different females) Sometimes I had to rewind to listen again so I didn't miss a clue/or a conversation.

The story was choppy

The Narration was absolutely horrible. The AI mispronounced and added weird halts and starts. It would throw off the story so bad I almost stopped listening several times.
The story would stop where it seemed there should have been more. Like they would be talking and suddenly she would be waking up the next morning. The weird spacing of sentences was off-putting like "Shut. the. fence." "Shut. the. door." "I. woke. up."
athame is pronounced A tham A not Atham

The stories were good. The AI reader was awful.

The stories were good. The AI reader was awful. Either employ real people or invest in a better AI.

fun mystery stories

I liked the stories but listening to AI reading was awful. it didn't know how to ready some-most of the slang in the story line which got rather distracting.

Worst narration ever

If this is what AI narration sounds like, voice actors should have no worry about their future careers. It was like listening to a person with a monotone voice reading a story. It made it impossible for me to get into the story.

why why virtual voice

story could have been good but so disapointed that that go the cheap way with computer voice.
I was hoping it was going to be like the vella Day books that was tolerable not at computerized.
pay real narrators even if they just read And don't do voices. who ever is generating it should be Able to pitch the vice
