Welcome to The Blue Spruce Coffee Shop Where the Java is Hot and the Murder is Cold Blooded

The Blue Spruce coffee shop in the heart of Myrtle Lake retirement village does a bang-up business all day long, keeping barista Charlie and owner/grandmother Carla on their toes. Local eccentrics like a former Broadway dancer, a famous landscape painter, a dotty psychic, and a mischievous sea captain pop in to share tall tales and ribald jokes, much to the delight of their over-caffeinated neighbors.

But this happy crew gets the shock of their lives when Fritz Caulfield, a lovely man and horrible sculptor, drowns in the village’s pristine pool and 24-year-old Charlie’s accused of his murder.

Join Charlie and Carla and their eccentric friends as they solve murders and investigate the strange ghost lights in the nearby forest.

Unfortunately the AI is what made my review so bad. Grated this particular AI is better than most, that's not saying much when are not pronounced correctly.... it throws the whole thing off 🤷🏼‍♀️😭

Just read it

The story was ok, but the AI was horrid. Trust your gut, don’t do it.

I was curious about the AI. Then spent the book feeling guilty about listening to it.

liked the stories but this is listed as a cozy mystery but has an abundance of bad language. The reason I pick cozy mysteries is to avoid that. The language adds nothing to the story.

good story lines

The story was hard to follow for me. However, for the most part, it was enjoyable. Not to crazy about the AI reader, but I guess that's the direction we're headed. It's a fun story.

Good Read

Everything

I liked how the storylines drew me in and having me in anticipation of what would happen next.

The characters

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

The characters are cute but the mysteries are predictable. The narration is difficult to listen to. SO many mispronounced words and no emotion. It is pretty monotone and has no pauses for punctuation.

Was this narrated by AI?

The story content is ok, but where was the editor? I heard so many mistakes that the author and editor should be embarrassed. The virtual voice is a bad idea. The machine doesn't know how to interpret. "She" was not on point. I'm disappointed in the whole concept. Much more virtual & I'm going back to reading the books myself.

No virtual voice please

The stories were decent even if predictable, but the AI voice kept mispronouncing names and other words. The emotion is also missing from a human narrator, please keep employing humans and ditch AI for this job.

The AI narration was annoying
