Publisher's summary

The body that turns up in Bron's garden has been there for decades, and he died of natural causes. Just rebury him and carry on as normal, right?

But it's kinda hard to be normal when the ghost of the dead man has been disturbed, and now he want...well, just what does he want?

It's down to Bron, a traditional hedge witch, to find out. If she doesn't, that ghost is going to be lingering in corners and upsetting kitchen chairs for the rest of her life. Creepy, tedious, and noisy, all at the same time.

She's helped by the unexpected arrival of her cousin Maddie from America, who is seeking connection and history in this uncertain age. And there's another mystery - why is this vivacious, friendly young woman so evasive and afraid?

Soon they are up to their knees in faery folk (don't trust 'em), druids (keen on trees), wild animals (Bron's a healer), the obligatory smoldering blacksmith (sorry, he prefers men), and the maddest Mad Great Aunt of all.

Life is never dull in Llanfair!

Love this book!

This book was such a pleasure in many ways because the writing is better than so many other books in this genre. The mythology and earth-based magic are alive, as is the land itself in Wales. The characters are warm and real rather than cute or plastic. As I listened to their interactions and began to understand their relationships, I enjoyed the layers, the humor. The narrator is just right for this book, portraying characters and events without overdramatizing things. The combination of this book and this narrator complement each other beautifully so that simply reading words on a physical or virtual page cannot possibly be quite as wonderful as an audiobook like this one. There are only 4 audiobooks in this series, which is sad, as the entire series consists of 8 books. I plan to enjoy listening to all that are available and may try reading because this world is so delightful to visit. My biggest negative criticism is that the cover art is trite and misleading. No pointy hats, or broomsticks.

What the cat dragged in

Good story, very different from what normally read. Good end with potential for more stories.

Bland

I can't help thinking that this was supposed to be really funny (instead of vaguely humorous) and would have been if the narration had treated it as a comedy. Instead it was vaguely banal. Combined with a lack lustre ending..... well, I just don't feel inclined to continue this series. I only finished this one bcos I listened while on the go and uncaring if I missed bits.
It's a shame audible can't seem to fit the right narrator with the right book. The narration wasn't technically bad (no overt mistakes), just very dull. I imagine she would do well with audio travel guides or other non-fiction

Way better than expected

Molly Milligan has crafted a wonderful paranormal mystery. It is filled with wonderful characters that quickly feel as though they are your friends. This was an original take on this type of storyline. Gemma Dawson gave an outstanding performance as she brought it all to life.

Pretty good

What The Cat Dragged in is an good story but it's not much of a mystery. It's more about self discovery.

Well-written Good Read

I enjoyed this book very much. the characters are interesting, well-developed, and distinct. Without any need for salacious content, the plot was fully developed and the story very good. I am definitely going to continue this series.

THE RESEARCH! :)

I've been studying paganism both modern and ancient for decades and often don't see such incredible nuance involving the diversity of the modern pagan paths. The cultural diversity is just as well handled. the overall story is also engaging and interesting characters make this a total package for many of us that deep dive into alternative spiritual options.

Was a great story……

Until the “angry black woman” victim was added to the story for that little kick of wokeism we are all force fed everyday. Save your time.
