Great Tools For The Want To Be Comedian
I chose this title thinking that it would help me with group dynamics while working with my peers. Thinking myself quite a clever person. I thought I’d just pick up a few choice nuggets on how to entertain as well as get my point across during presentations. I found the book to be very detailed providing exercises and explaining the benefits of consistent practice in order to gain skills to perform on any level. I am now considering going to a class or two just to experience the highs of getting it right on stage.

Huge Hit with Our Theater Group
I picked this up to help freshen things up in our community theater group, and it was a total win. The games are fun, easy to follow, and actually got everyone laughing and participating—even the shy folks. We’ve used it in a few rehearsals now, and it’s really helped us build trust and loosen up. I also used a few exercises in a classroom setting, and they worked great there too. Super practical and fun to have on hand.

Helped Me Ditch Perfection and Just Go For It
I’ve always loved the idea of improv but froze up the moment I had to perform. This audiobook made it feel so accessible and fun. Think (and act) on your feet
My fave part about this title was the pointers for actually teaching improv. If we can teach it, then we really absorb this stuff ourselves! I love the pointers to selecting activities to really keep students engaged during improv classes, it was also great to discover the ‘Yes, and’ technique which is definitely a game changer. Warm ups like pass the clap and story building games in which each member of the group adds to a story to keep the ball rolling was also such helpful advice for cultivating a productive class. Sacha Lively obviously has a rich background using improv and ad libbing to help her through many a situation and the fact that she offers excellent pointers to even overcome stage fright (which we also encounter at some point or another) is just a massive bonus as well.

Way More Fun Than I Expected!
I grabbed this thinking it might help me loosen up in meetings—and wow, it delivered! The games are super easy to follow and actually fun, even for a total beginner like me. We used a few during a family gathering and ended up laughing way more than expected. It’s helped me get more comfortable thinking on my feet without stressing. Honestly feels like a secret weapon for confidence and creativity.
