Publisher's summary

On June 1, 1956, the New York Times broke a story that captured the imagination of the world. Another Dead Sea Scroll had been found, unlike any before it, describing unimaginable treasures worth untold billions buried in the hills east of Jerusalem and under the Holy City itself.

In the years that followed, scholars came to believe that the copper scroll could be history's greatest treasure map, one that could not only lead to the treasures but pave the way to the building of the Third Jewish Temple.

But the scroll's code has never been broken, and experts from all sides warn that any effort by Israel to rebuild their Temple in Jerusalem would unleash a war of biblical proportions.

Now, exactly 50 years after the Copper Scroll was unveiled, New York Times best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg takes you on his most exciting and heart-pounding ride yet.

Saddam Hussein is gone. Yasser Arafat is dead. A New Iraq is rising. Now White House advisors Jon Bennett and Erin McCoy find themselves facing a terrifying new threat triggered by an ancient mystery.

Exciting treasure hunt!

This is a great story, a cross between Indiana Jones and James Bond. Political intrigue, Biblical prophecy, the search for the Temple Treasures. This book moves very fast, with many surprises. I started here and really enjoyed it, but would recommend you start earlier in the series, with the Last Jihad, the Last Days, or the Ezekiel Option. The characters build through the series and there will be some things you won't understand right away.

The narrator is not the same as on the first three

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Good plot as usual.

How could the performance have been better?

Go back to less voice-over, too much "drama' where it's not needed.

Another stupendous novel!!!

This might be the best of all in this series. It is full of adventure and suspense with rich historical and political facts will provide a wealth of education beyond all expectation. The awesome reference to faith in a sovereign God and a consistent gospel message woven all throughout this and every Rosenberg novel are what put his over the top.

Excellent reader of a great story

The reader was outstanding! The scripture used and the elements of salvation were truly well presented for anyone who would benefit hearing. The story, as always with this author presented realistic situations.

More Indiana Jones Than Previous Books in Series

While I would strongly recommend this book if you are reading the series, I found this one to be less political thriller and more Indiana Jones to the extreme. An archaeology expedition amidst dangers and villains is exciting, but I didn't feel that this book was quite as well written as the previous three.

one complaint

I like the reading except for the pronunciation change of President McPherson's name. all other narratives have had a different pronunciation. Very anxious to finish the last book in the series

Joel Rosenberg is a master storyteller!

I am loving this series of books. I've been reading most but since I had a two day drive, I listened to this one. The reading was excellent, even giving different characters different voices and accents. Great job!

Another Awesome Book by Joel Rosenberg

If you could sum up The Copper Scroll in three words, what would they be?

I think I just did in #2. See the headline above.

Who was your favorite character and why?

You can't leave out Erin if you like John. They are and have been a team with a developing respect for the only God and His Word. They get it done like no one else.

Have you listened to any of Jeff Woodman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Very well read work. Great ability to add appropriate accents of the many languages to give an identity to the characters. It is like listening to a play with your eyes closed.

Who was the most memorable character of The Copper Scroll and why?

Mordechai has been the driving force through all the books in the series.

Any additional comments?

As a fairly new believer in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, this book series and Joel Rosenberg's well-researched and factual information, parallels my reading of God's Word. The Bible is such an incredible book with so much historical information about God's creations, ETC. Joel Rosenberg uses his research of It and weaves his fictional approach very neatly with biblical references. An awesome book in an awesome series!
