Very Entertaining. A Great End of the Summer Read

What made the experience of listening to The Courtship of Miss Loretta Larson the most enjoyable?

Years ago I listened to the series of Miss Julia by Ann B. Ross audiobooks and I really enjoyed them. I found Mary Lou Cheatham's book just as entertaining. This is the first book by this author that I have listen to and I would be interested in hearing more of her works.
I did, however, find that the narrator's (Jodi Hokinson) voice made me sleepy. Not a problem if I am listening to them before I go to bed, but it is a problem if I am driving.
So, I bumped up my speed to 1.25 and found that tempo more pleasant for my circumstances.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Courtship of Miss Loretta Larson?

I liked that Miss Loretta was writing romances on the side, especially the scene she was thinking of about with the Scottish heroine. Miss Loretta is a great character and, in the genre of Christian Romance, I like that Miss Loretta's Christianity was preachy or holier than though. In spite of her circumstances, she remained strong and thanked God, even for her challenges.

What three words best describe Jodi Hockinson’s voice?

Monotone, slow, adequate

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

One man wants her for her money; the other for her biscuits.

Any additional comments?

I, the person actually writing this review, am actually the wife of Philip Taylor who is signed up on Audible. He purchased a copy of this book during a promotion, and I listened to it. Although he also listened to it along with me at times, i doubt he would ever write a review.
Mary Lou Cheatham recently joined Grave Expectations, a writers group that I have been a member of for three years. Though Ms. Cheatham lived in Ruston, Louisiana, the same town where I live, we had not previously met.
However, I did not let this influence my rating and review.
Listening to The Courtship of Miss Loretta Larson was really a treat for me. As I said before, it reminded me of the Miss Julia series and truly enjoyed them all. I am very pleased that Ms. Cheatham decided to pursue audiobooks, because I rarely have time to sit and read, but I can always find time to listen to a book while doing something else.
On occasion, I do read books by self or independently published authors, and often I can tell that they lack the polish or good storytelling.
Not the case in this book. Ms. Cheatham is an excellent storyteller and this book is very well written!

Enjoyed this story

This story kept my interest from beginning to end. With each book she writes, Mary Lou Cheatham, brings the characters to life and creates a vivid world for them to inhabit. I was almost able to smell the biscuits in the oven at Miss Loretta’s house. I am looking forward to the next story.
