About this listen

The light fades as she runs for her life, the forest now becoming quieter around her. The only noise she hears is the sound of footsteps following her....

It’s hiking season in Black Rock Falls, and the small town in Montana is flooded with visitors. But when a hiker finds a human skull on a deserted trail in the woods that surround the town, Detective Jenna Alton is called in to investigate.

With no missing persons reported, Jenna has no leads. Then her team makes a shocking discovery - the body of another hiker, a young man, tied to a tree and riddled with bullets. Could the two murders be linked?

As more bodies are found, Jenna and her deputy David Kane know that they must venture deep into the forest to find and face the killer. But nothing can prepare them for what awaits them there....

If you love Robert Dugoni, Karin Slaughter, and Rachel Abbott you’ll love this nail-biting thriller from D.K. Hood.

This series keeps getting better!

Each book in the series seems to get better. Another psychopath is on the loose in Black Rock Falls...this time targeting vacationing couples. Can Sheriff Jenna Alton and her team catch him or is this one too smart for them?
You can’t be bored with these books...they’re fast paced and action packed. The subtle chemistry between Jenna and Dave leaves you wanting more.
I really enjoy this narrator for this series...just right for the characters. Definitely a must read-listen.

Good listen

I like this series even though I didn't like one of the people who read it. Worth getting.

Not accurate, should have completed research

This was a very entertaining book but some of the information was somewhat offensive.
1. A bobcat is not a dangerous animal. Using a mountain lion would have been more appropriate.

2. I am 74 years old and I AM a Marine. X-Marine is offensive to many of us that served. “Once a Marine always a Marine”
3. Petty but a 10 point buck is a term used East of the Mississippi. Montana counts just on side of the antlers. It might have a total of 10 points but you only count one side. A 5-point deer would have been more accurate.
I still would recommend the book.

This should be a TV series

As usual D.K. Hood delivers a face paced edge of your seat thriller. This story had me wide awake listening to the audio all night. This author has an incredible imagination, fresh ideas and a style of writing that takes you right into the story. It's like watching a movie. Why isn't this author in bookstores? She is better than ANYONE I've read before and I read every bestselling crime author.
Keep writing D.K. I can't wait for more David Kane and Jenna Alton.

Ugh!!

D. K. Good can write a good murder mystery, but it is ruined by this narrator. She needs to take some drama lessons, at times she sounds like a breathless teenager. I don’t like to write negative reviews but enough is enough. I know narrators can be costly and I don’t know if it is because Audible/Amazon is producing so many, but I’ll go back to reading these books rather than listen to one of such poor quality.
