About this listen

F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote many wonderful romantic and realistic short stories and a few incredible "on the edge" fantasy and supernatural stories. Although the story of "Benjamin Button" is quite different than the 2009 movie, the premise is the same - a man is born old and lives his life backwards! Fizgerald says he got the idea from Mark Twain's remark that it was a pity that the best part of life came at the beginning and the worst part at the end.Public Domain (P)2009 Jimcin Recordings Anthologies Classics Fiction Fantasy Short Story

This is the interesting book of a man/boy which was born old and aged backwards. This show the struggles he went through because of society’s perceptions.

Very short but worth the 99 cents.

The narrator was a little boring but it was only an hour so I could deal with that. This book is sad in a way at the end. Also it is nothing like the movie except for in concept.

Great story

A got this story after watching the movie and, not surprisingly, found that the movie used the basic concept and that's about all. That being said, it was a great story - what an imagination Fitzgerald had! Reading was good, too. Loved the voices of Button at various ages.

Perfectly Honest

This short story is grand. It's honest and more sincere than the Hollywood Love story starring Brad Pitt. It was well worth the short time listening to it, even though the narrator is promoting his podcast and struggles with character voices but slowly getting past that, enjoyable and interesting read.

Highly recommend this short story!

Well done

Well done reading of this story. Concept takes a lot of "suspension of disbelief" but it's certainly an imaginative story.

Nice suprise

I didn't particularly like the movie but got this anyway just to see what it was like. Glad I did.
Much shorter but also a much better story than the movie. Reading was also quite good.

incredibly short

the story lacked an abundance of details and was super short. For the first time ever, I have to say I like a movie better than I did the book.

It passed some time...

I listen to books as I drive and while this book did pass the time it was fairly boring.

Don't bother

Fitzgerald wrote this just to see if he could. He couldn't. The entire book rides on a single notion; life in reverse. It makes for an interesting convesation over cocktails, but it can't carry a novel.
