Publisher's summary

Being alone is what he wanted… All he needed was her.

Hunter Osborn left his family, his friends and his job as a park ranger after uncovering a disturbing crime scene. Haunted by nightmares and harrowing memories, Hunter relocated to an isolated property near Triple Creek, Colorado, where he lives alone and keeps his interactions with people to a minimum.

Still, Hunter can spot trouble from a mile away, and when he encounters Jodi Bentley, he knows she’s trouble of the most tempting kind—even more tempting when she moves into the run-down cabin next door. Jodi is tough as nails, sexy as hell—and clearly struggles with her own traumatic past. Hunter tries to keep his distance, but when Jodi’s life is threatened, he can’t help being drawn out of his own darkness and into hers.

Lori Foster does it again.

I love how minor characters in previous books get their own stories. And you get to revisit some of the previous characters.

Female voices detract

I love Lori Foster’s books. This story is compelling and I’m struggling to continue, but the narrator is distracting me. The female voices horrible and detract from the character’s personality. They male voices don’t have much distinction between characters. All in all, I have to struggle to stay engaged. I hope the narration is improved for the next book.

Female voice

Female voices were very distracting, especially the main character, I almost stopped listening to it because of that!

Can't handle the narrator's female voice

I love Lori's book. Wanted to listen to the entire audiobook but I couldn't handle it. The female voice the narrator uses is so annoying I couldn't go on. I am hoping for the next novel Lori uses an additional narrator for female voices.

Narrator ruins a story - again!!

Doesn’t anyone listen before putting this out to a buying public? Wayne Mitchell has a very very hard time with female voices and makes all other characters whiney and/or stupid - I fell asleep dying all the action in the book and had no interest in rewinding!!! First time ever.

Irritating narrator

The narrators voice was very irritating especially with several of the men’s voices that was very loud.

Narrator 👎

I love the story, and Lori is one of my favorite authors, but I’m struggling to listen to his female voice. I listen to books multiple times but I won’t be able to re listen to this one. I will probably return and just download digital format.

Great story

I just finished listening to the series McKenzie trail and will listen to this one again so I can enjoy the next story in the series. As always Lori books are great.

Great book. Great story. Good series.

Would have been better without the “voices”. Took so much away from the listen. Just stick to your normal voice. The other characters were disturbing.
