Blurb for Defiance Falls, book one:

All I wanted was a little trouble. Okay, so maybe choosing Cruz Donovan's 18th birthday party wasn't the way to go about it. Three years ago, I fell for him. I thought he fell for me too. But when he broke it off, he took my heart, and as if that wasn't enough, he took my best friends too. They aren't the same boys I knew before high school started. They've got all kinds of secrets they're keeping from me. If I want back in, I've got to be ready to play their game. I might be a killer soccer player, but I'm not real eager to join a team when they won't tell me who the opponent is, how to score a goal, or what rules I'm supposed to be following. I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time, a pawn in games I don't understand. Maybe I never should have gone looking for trouble in the first place. Is it too late to change my mind?

Hazel and Cruz

Book 1

Very suspenseful. By the end of book 1 you have so many questions and some ideas what's going on, but no real answers. Personally I felt super rung out, so many emotional ups and downs.

Hazel is a normal high schooler. She plays soccer and has over a 4.0 GPA. It's her senior year, she plans to relax a little and make some memories. Plus decide where she's going to go to college. But everything she thinks about her life up till now isn't what it seems.

Ends on a major cliff hanger!

Book 2

This book is duel prospectives, from Cruz's side and Hazel's. We finally have some answers, but everytime there is a sigh of relief another ball drops. I will say my all time favorite scene is in this book. The baseball scene is such an amazing revenge, plus that Cruz found it hot! Hazel finds her bad@$$ muscles to flex this book as well! Can't wait for the next and final book.

Book 3

This book is also duel prospective. While still intense, I feel this book was much less angst. I loved the intensity in the other books, but after that it's nice to have a slightly lower intensity. Questions are answered, and the group becomes much closer.

Over all amazing trilogy! The narrators in the audio book is wonderful, very much in character. I listen/read this whole thing in less then 2 days, it sucks you in and keeps you coming back!!.

Amazing!!

Defiance Falls

Twisty turny topsy turvy goodness!!

Cruz Donovan, the popular guy in school.. he's more than just a party boy, more than just a jock, and much more than you could ever expect.

Hazel Ross decides she is tired of being the good girl, she is tired of being strict and doing nothing but playing soccer and working on her straight A's. She wants to find a little bit of trouble, a little bit of fun, and figure out where she belongs. And boy does she find all of that and more!

Hazel and Cruz have a magnetic connection that can't be denied that everyone can feel. There is an electric energy pulsing between the two of them. Hazel is drawn to Cruz despite their past, and vice versa. Little does she know.

This book was so good. It's a cross between new adult and young adult with a hint of mystery. I loved it and was surprised by the events that take place. I didn't expect it. I am a fan of Ali Dean's book and the sweet chemistry between the lead characters but this is a different story line than her normal writing and she nailed it!!

Defiance Falls Revolution

Hazel and Cruz seem to have gotten themselves in over their heads.. Or have they?

The crew has a plan, timing isn't on their side right now, they aren't ready to bring the plan to fruition yet but since Hazel showed up at Cruz's 18th birthday and forced the timeline of events they will have to move forward ready or not.

The questions are starting to get answered and whoa there are so many players in the game, so much that Hazel had no idea of. It's amazing the secrets people can keep even when they are so close to you. It's also amazing how much learning the truth can completely change your life. I love the angst in this book and the suspense. I couldn't walk away I had to know what happened next.

I love the fact that you get Cruz's POV during this book. I craved it in book 1 so having it during this book made me so excited.

Defiance Falls War

Hazel and Cruz have started a war, not exactly what they were wanting but this is what they've gotten.

The crew is ready, the plans are in place, and all the back up plans are set up and ready to go. They have prepared this, but the turn of events is more than even they could've imagined. The new questions that arise during this book kept me on the edge of my seat whispering to myself "what the heck, what happened?"

I was sucked in from books 1 and 2 so book 3 was a very quick read. I couldn't get enough I had to know how it played out and the story did not disappoint. I loved it. The secondary characters and all of their lives and the bond between the whole crew, I craved more. I loved the dynamic between the crew and the acceptance of each other and the closeness that they all had with each other. The revelations were well played out and the heartstrings were definitely tugged. Ali Dean did a phenomenal job with this series!

So freaking good

I cannot detail enough how interesting this was. The series is so good you'll want to continuously listen from one book to the next. The plot and writing were just chef kiss perfect! The narrators did an amazing job portraying the story.

Great book from a new to me author

I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book but I was wonderfully surprised. It was engaging and fun. I was slightly annoyed at the two main characters but then I realized how realistic it was thinking back to high school.

The world creation and dialogue was great and the narrators fit the characters and emitted the right amount of emotion. I’m looking forward to more books by Ali.
