About this listen

Forensic detective Lincoln Rhyme and his partner, Amelia Sachs, return in this short story from New York Times best-selling author Jeffery Deaver.

A man is murdered in a back alley. Renowned forensic detective Lincoln Rhyme and his partner, Amelia Sachs, are left with a veritable mountain of evidence collected from the trash-filled alley, and their only lead is a young eyewitness: the man's eight-year-old son, who was riding along on his father's delivery route.

But the murder victim may have been more than just a simple deliveryman. Rhyme and Sachs uncover clues that he might have been delivering a highly illegal, contraband shipment - which is now missing. And someone wants it back....

The Most Entertaining 1Hour 45Minutes

Although, this is a short story, it fills with surprises and actions. The story was so well written that I imagine I was in the story with the characters. Now, I’m wishing for part two…

I wish there were more books and stories

Edoardo Ballerini is perfect for the voices in this series. This is a little tale for when there's no Rhyme book left that you haven't read. Very well done, and performed.

Rock solid short story

I'm not really a Jeffrey Deaver fan, but I do listen to his books when I have nothing better to read. This short story is more creative and interesting than most novels in the Lincoln Rhyme series. The twist at the very end almost earned it 5 stars.

Boring

This is my first time listening to a Lincoln Rhyme story and my last. Too many characters and no real action.
