About this listen

Robbery, arson, murder, and the one night stand that just won't end.

With 11 missing women to find and six high-profile burglary cases to solve, the last thing Detective Nathan McNamara needs in his life is one more complication. And that's exactly what his recent one-night stand is becoming - complicated. With his heinous lieutenant breathing down his neck for answers and his accidental girlfriend dropping hints for a commitment, Nathan is realizing that his career and his bachelor status are both on the line.

When the burglary cases suddenly escalate to homicide, Nathan must put everything else aside to stop the killer. But this is easier said than done when the blonde from the bar repeatedly shows up at his doorstep and enlists his own mother against him. Now he's more convinced than ever that his job hangs in the balance and that the Surgeon General's warning on the whiskey bottle should include something about women.

Awful narrator

The narrator is horrific. Not just conversations and women’s voices, but even Nathan’s voice. Didn’t want to finish

Getting on the Nathan McNamara train....

Well this ended waaay before I wanted it to! Time to follow Nathan into the Soul Summoner. I enjoyed every minute of this book and the Narrator was so good I actually started picturing the characters. Just when you think this story is over....hang on a second...a really big twist just walked into Nathan's life and it could change everything!

Nathan the Dectective - Perfect!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I had previously read the story but listening to the sexy voice read it to me was oh so fun! My first audible book & loved it!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nathan started out being my fav character but after reading the next books in the series, I love Sloan & Warren too. Their stories are all connected, so hard to just pick one!!

Which scene was your favorite?

Can't say that I have a fav scene but knew from the beginning that Shannon wasn't his type of girl.

Any additional comments?

The whole summoner series to this point is one of my all time favs!

Nice back story

A nice back story, but not all that exciting if you haven't read the first book.

Well worth the money!

I was hesitant to spend money on a short story, but decided that I like the series enough that I had to read this one. While short, it was excellent! I loved getting to know Nathan and Shannon, and was tickled to see how they started dating. The case Nathan was working on was interesting and meshed well with their dynamic. The ending really made me want to re-read The Soul Summoner series, just to continue reading more about Nathan. It is an excellent short-story prequel!

Loved the back story but...

Nathan's backstory was refreshing however the narration was painful. He did a perfect Nathan but the female, children and Black voices were cringe-worthy. I was actually grateful that it was a quickie as much as I wanted to hear more of the story.

Good start to Nathan's book!

This was a good prequel to Nathan's book. Got to know him better and how he ended up with Shannon. I like him even more now than I did before.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and totally recommend it.

The narration was great. Carson Beck did a great job. The women sounded like women and he has a nice reading voice.
