Publisher's summary

For Cain Casey, nothing is more important than family, and having hers close - Emma, Hayden, Hannah, and the new baby - is as near as she’ll get to true happiness. But enemies who lurk in the shadows threaten more than just her business, forcing her to question whether the biggest threat comes from having it all.

As Cain continues to search for lingering adversaries like agent-turned-drug dealer Anthony Curtis, the FBI is hot on her tail and will stop at nothing to lock her away. Add the Russian mob into the mix, and it might be too much to handle. It will take a transformation into the devil incarnate for Cain to keep those she loves safe and to hold on to her rightful place as the head of the family.

A Cain Casey romantic intrigue.

When is book 8 coming?

I’ve never wished my life away but waiting till February 2024 for book number 8 and hopefully more is taking a lot of my patience. There were so many unfinished issues at the end was a tantalizing but nerve racking way of waiting until next year for the next book in the series to come out!

The book was well done and Paige McKinney was excellent as the narrator of the series!

When’s the next one coming out????

I luv Cain & Emma!! And their extended families, both personal & Mob, &/or both.
I do wish the series had the same narrator but Paige is great!!
But there is sooooo many loose ends!! What happens with Shelby’s luv life? Will she hook up with Dylan? Abby & Fin’s issues with Nicola & Fredrick? Who drove the detective off the bridge? Who are the agents using Little Lucy? Is Chapmen THat stupid to use Lucy? How’s Merrick doing with her recovery? Do Linda and her brothers move to New Orleans?
So I ask again, when’s book 8 coming out??
I just can’t wait!!!!
I luv Ali Vali in general, her books are great & I luv how she incorporates other characters from stand alone stories to join the series & continue throughout after they join.
Great job all around!!

Another great book in Devil series

Storyline was on par with the Cain Casey family that continues to grow. The narrator was not my favorite but the story kept me interested.

The narrator was off her game

This is hands down my favorite series and while I appreciate the same narrator has done all 7 books its unfortunate that her performance in this one did not live up to the previous 6. The pronunciation of one of the characters names suddenly changed as did the accent for another.

not into narration

Everyone sounded too much like Mae West. Looking forward to the next book in series to see what happens next.

Honestly ..

This entire series is amazing. I ended up reading the first book because the audio sample of chosen narrator didn’t the book an injustice(no disrespect). From there, I end up reading the rest of the rest of the books. So it was a pleasant surprise to see book 7 pop up with one of my favorite narrators. If the rest of the books are ever released on audible, please stick with Paige or someone like Abby Craden to brings this amazing series to life. Book 2 was so good, saddens me that it didn’t get its full potential with the audio.

A must

You would think after book 7 you’re done with a series!!! Not this one. I can’t wait for book 8 and bring back Paige McKinney as the narrator. Literally best series ever, can’t wait for Cain Casey and family to come back! Ali Vali, you’re an amazing writer. I was literally at the edge of my seat the entire time!
Now, change the narrator for the first 2 books so I can start over again. I keep starting back with book 3!!

The voice was no good

I had to be fair to the story because I loved it so I couldn’t leave a bad review, but the voiceovers is like the females with the deep voice she couldn’t take them on, so they all begin to blend in, and they didn’t sound as masculine or deep . to me, the Reader overdramatized her voice when it was moments of declaration of love it came off, fake and overworked, because of the way the reader read it.
