About this listen

At Princeton University, a famed geneticist dies inside a biohazard lab. In Rome, a Vatican archaeologist is found dead in St. Peter's Basilica. In Africa, a U.S. senator's son is slain outside a Red Cross camp. The three murders on three continents bear a horrifying connection: all the victims are marked by a Druidic pagan cross burned into their flesh.

The bizarre murders thrust Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma Force into a race against time to solve a riddle going back centuries and to a ghastly crime against humanity hidden within a cryptic medieval codex.

Aided by two women from his past, one his ex-lover, the other his new partner, Gray must piece together the horrifying truth. But the revelations come at a high cost, and to save the future, Gray will have to sacrifice one of the women at his side.

That alone might not be enough, as the true path to salvation is revealed in a dark prophecy of doom. The ultimate nightmare is locked within a talisman buried by a dead saint, an ancient artifact known as the Doomsday Key.

loved the narrator. story was imaginative. Basing itself in ancient historic facts ,and modern theorem it's has a unique plot that kept me guessing.

imaginative

The book itself is interesting and well-paced; but the narrator - who is fine during straight narrative - should STOP trying to do accents. There are several foreign characters and the wide range of uniformly poorly done accents takes away from an otherwise good story.

Good story, fair narrator

What made the experience of listening to The Doomsday Key the most enjoyable?

Listening to Doomsday Key had me on the edge of my seat. I didn't want to put it down to even sleep. I will definitely read more of Rollins books.

What other book might you compare The Doomsday Key to and why?

It is similar to the Tom Clancy books in its intrigue. Consistent characters, suspense all form a good series. It is a definite read.

Have you listened to any of Peter Jay Fernandez’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No that I know of.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sigma Force - Join the team.

Sigma to the rescue - again

I've been following this author for the last few years. I like his current events tie-ins, quick paced action, and fun characters. Reading his books reminds me of some of my first adventures in reading as a child with the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew book; a cliff hanger ending in every chapter. If you like over the top adventure, suspense, and diabolical enemies this is the book for you.

The Best Yet

Liked the science and historical aspects. I found story to be difficult to follow at times. I had to hear it twice to get smoother absorption of the plot.

I enjoyed the details and sciency stuff! Also, POLAR BEARS! I like the, "this could really happen," aspects of these books.

This was the 1st Sigma Force book that I read, originally. Once I knew that there was a Series, I went and started from the beginning! Fernandez does a great job once again, with all of the voices! Suspenseful and fun, I loved it!

What a great read!
