It's a Cinderella tale with a nice young man who takes care of his ailing mom. He's no rake or rogue just a nice guy and he gets a good girl in the end. Short and sweet.

What a beautiful love story. So nice to see a man of means and title take on the Ton. Usually it is so drawn out...but this story was delightful and filled with love all around. Enjoy this story.

I loved this Regency. Romance, angst, action and humor combined to make this a fast and fun listen. Gillian Beaumont is a sweet and loyal lady's maid, born on the wrong side of the sheets. The illegitimate daughter of an peer, she is mistaked for a "lady" by the Earl of Pembroke. Fearing the lady has stumbled into the seedy halls of the Hellfire Club, he makes it his mission to save her. This is a new author for me and I'm very happy to discover her and a new series.
The story is steamy, with a daring and strong heroine trying to save her sexy, heart-grabbing hero from making a grave mistake. Falling in love with her.
The narrator does a lovely job with the characters and her narration helps bring the story to life.
Now I need to find the story on Gillian's mistress and see what happens with her! I highly recommend this book.

I loved this book. Lauren Smith never disappoints me. I love how she is writing about the other characters in the League of Rogues series. I loved James and Gillian. I'm looking g forward to the next book in the series.

This was a fun story with a very interesting beginning. I loved Gillian's loyalty to her friend, braving danger to protect her. Her honesty was also endearing as she struggled with when and how to admit to her past. I found this a grittier look at that time period. James was a sweetheart and wanted his heart's desire no matter what. The narration by Carolyn Morris kept me listening as well. I highly recommend this story, and I look forward to reading all the Wicked Earls.

So, I listened to the first book in this series and it was a real struggle because the narration was so bad! I didn't listen to anymore of them until I saw this one was narrated by someone else, Carolyn Morris. She is an amazing narrator and I was glad to find this. It really is a bummer the rest of the audible books in this series are not not narrated by her (or someone else). I would totally buy and listen to them.

Anyway, I enjoyed this story quite a bit, it was short and sweet. I liked Gillian and James a lot, they made a good match. The story started out quick and grabbed your attention. Which is always good. There are some good secondary characters that were great. Especially, Audrey Sheridan, she was funny and getting herself into some messes.

Since this was a short story it wasn't full of angst and filler nonsense. There was a lot of good dialogue throughout the entire book. And a few LOL moments!

As for the narration, well I pretty much said it at the beginning. It is amazing! I love Carolyn Morris! She does such a great job on all the voice and her reading voice is fantastic too. The men sound like men, everyone gets their own distinct voice. Amazing!
