Publisher's summary

Get the first three books in The Eliminator Series, including:

The Fallen: Detective Brett Jacobs is a good cop. But he's soon going to have his limits tested. After he finishes an undercover assignment that leads to the arrest of a major crime boss, he’ll find out just how dirty the bad guys play. Jacobs realizes that in order to beat an organization like this, he has to fight fire with fire. Will he throw his badge away to become a one-man wrecking crew? Or will he try to work within the confines of the law? One thing’s for certain, the men he’s going up against have severely underestimated the lengths that he’ll go to. And he’ll stop at nothing in order to extract his revenge.

The Payback: Rich Mallette is in prison, but he’s still calling the shots. Brett Jacobs may have taken out some of his men, but he’s not ready to throw in the towel just yet. He’s still got a few things up his sleeve for the former detective, one of which is another heinous act aimed to destroy what’s left of Jacobs’ soul. While Jacobs battles more of Mallette’s Maulers, he learns the identity of the second man who was with Frazier when his family was killed. It will culminate in Jacobs and Mallette finally meeting face to face for the first time since Mallette ordered the hit on Jacobs’ family.

The Reprisal: Frustrated that his organization is crumbling while he’s in prison, Mallette starts getting desperate. He orders the kidnapping of the kids of Jacobs’ brother. Fearful that the kids might end up like the rest of his family, Jacobs frantically searches the city to find them before they end up in the cemetery. With time growing short, and Jacobs knowing that his enemy is willing to do the unthinkable, Jacobs enlists the help of unlikely allies in order to find them before it’s too late. Will Jacobs find them before Mallette’s men do the horrific act? Or will Jacobs get there too late and cause his pain and suffering to go to even lower proportions?

Poor naration

The primary narrator had such a singsongy voice that i fell asleep gladly and the book finished while I was asleep. Got the gist and it wasn’t a bad story. Peace ✌🏻

Revenge as a motivation

You could skip the first 4 chapters. His wife and children are killed, he is out for revenge. Liked Ryan's other series better.

not an assault weapon

I like everything except for the constant use of the word assault weapon. everybody that missed English class and grammar assault, is a verb or an adjective is not a noun it's not a person place or thing it is an action therefore it cannot be a weapon . as for an AR-15. anybody can look this up, the company who made that gun is ArmaLite (A)Rifles(R) I wish people would stop politicizing a word or a tool to make it scary, it's not as scary as the person who's angry enough to aim it at innocent people because it is an inanimate object

Hard to listen to!

Storyline was good, narrator of book 1 & 2 was difficult to listen to. He pitched up at the end of each sentence.

Love this series too!

I have become Mike Ryan's biggest fan in the past couple months. Can't get enough of his series. I thin I've found my most favorite character so far...Eddie Franks is a blast! Canr wait to start the next box set!

The constant transformation of Jacob’s character.

The way the plot kept building upon itself and the addition of different characters and plot twists.

Not a silencer. But trying to be.

While the story line isn’t bad, it’s not as good as the silencer series. I will listen to the next set.

Not so good..

I've read the first book in this 3 book series but now I'm going to stop for a while. I don't think I like Brett Jacobs at all. I can see him wanted to kill those who killed his family but now he's killing other criminals and stealing their guns and money. I don't know if I'll ever finish this but I'll hold onto it instead of shelving it away.

Also, you're "playing" with killers and gangsters here and no one uses the word "f**k." And sh*t was used 4 times? THAT is NOT going to happen. That does make the book kinda boring and silly. Make it real or don't write about these kind of people.

As for the narration: Adam Gold was the MAIN reason I got this set of books. He did all the series about Jack Winchester and I loved every book there was in it. I really hated to see it end. So, when I saw this set I jumped at it because of him. Then I saw that he was only doing the first 2 books then the third book was being read by someone else. That's not good.

Ehhhhhh

Not a huge fan of the narrator!!! The high pitch is not for me especially when it is random . When listening to audiobooks narration is a huge deal for me. Not a fan but stuck it out for the storyline
