Publisher's summary

Most Crème Brûlée Eaten in One Minute, Highest Number of Matching Outfits Worn by a Stuffed Toy and Its Owner, Youngest Person to Summit the Third-Highest Mountain in the World. These are just three of the 49,521 records won by Arthur's 12 brothers and sisters. Unfortunately, unlike his siblings, Arthur hasn't broken a single, solitary world record! But when the Whipples suffer a spate of catastrophes and a curious amount of attention from a pair of irregularly sized and unusually menacing clowns, Arthur might be the only one who can save his family from losing their collective crown… or worse.

barely satisfying even as an appetizer!

I feel like this book suffers from someone in the publishing deciding that it be better if the store was split up into parts.
you're not given a complete story, and the part given is kind of depressing. you're set in this world where the only thing that matters is how many records you set, and being that the main focus of the story is not anything to do with the boy and his record breaking and everything to do with tragedy besetting his family, his failures and the treatment he gets from others makes it real hard to enjoy anything except very very few triumphs he has in figuring out what happened.
what's worse in the end, there is no end just a big fat to be continued. nothing that I can actually hold to as a satisfying anything in this book.
the narrator's performance was outstanding on the other hand I just wish the story was as satisfying as his performances of it
