About this listen

A loving mother. A perfect family. A shock wave that could shatter everything.

Freya Braithwaite knows she is lucky. Nineteen years of marriage to a man who still warms her soul and two beautiful teenage daughters to show for it: confident Charlotte and thoughtful Lexi. Her home is filled with love and laughter.

But when Lexi's struggles with weight take control of her life, everything Freya once took for granted falls apart, leaving the whole family with a sense of helplessness that can only be confronted with understanding, unity and, above all, love.

In this compelling and heart-wrenching new work by bestselling author Amanda Prowse, one ordinary family tackles unexpected difficulties and discovers that love can find its way through life's darkest moments.

Somethings are hard for a family to face & go through. There were sad times & great times in this book, I really enjoyed it & I look forward to reading/listening to more by this author.

I Loved It

I consider myself a pretty hard man. I've fought in combat, jumped out of airplanes, raced in Ironman triathlons but Amanda Prowse's story about how easy it is for a child to be struck by an eating disorder brought tears to my eyes.

Will tear your heart out

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

I found myself angry with the parents, even knowing their choices were impossible to make. Separating what's best for our children, and what they want is always difficult.

A very hard truth to read.

real eye opener. I wasn't familiar with how bad the disease really was. What a struggle.

great story of such a terrible struggle

AP has a way of drawing me in with the topics of the day I didn't think that I'd really be interested in a story about an eating disorder but once again she puts it down as if I know the struggle this family is going through that any family can be going through with any type of problem or conflict so she has a great gift of making this seem real and clearly the topics she chooses and How Deeply she gets into the family Dynamics I enjoy listening to her I think I don't care what she writes about I just want her to read to me I enjoy her narrations to say the least

Difficult in many ways to hear but beautifully written and read. I found it an eye opener about a terrible illness and well worth hearing the story. I loved the characters in this book and the amazing relationship of the parents.
The story is raw but so poignant.

Powerful and emotional

A heart-wrencing recount of a family stricken by anorexia. Absolutely necessary to listen to or read if you or your loved one are struggling with a similar disease.

Such a well told story

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

This book is a little dry and slow but it does give a very informative view of life dealing with anorexia and how it effects the entire family.

Informative
