About this listen

Award winning German author Mechthild Gläser presents The Forgotten Book—her first YA audiobook published in English. This whimsical story unfolds in the quaint atmosphere of an ivy-clad boarding school, where books are magical objects and Jane Austen reigns supreme.

Emma is used to things going her way. Her father is headmaster of her prestigious boarding school, her friends take her advice as gospel, and she's convinced that a relationship with her long-time crush is on the horizon.

As it turns out, Emma hasn't seen anything yet. When she finds an old book in an abandoned library, things really start going Emma's way: anything she writes in the book comes true.

But the power of the book is not without consequences, and Emma soon realizes that she isn't the only one who knows about it. Someone is determined to take it from her—and they'll stop at nothing to succeed.

A new boy in school—the arrogant, aloof, and irritatingly handsome Darcy de Winter—becomes Emma's unlikely ally as secrets are revealed and danger creeps ever closer.

The forgotten book is one of my favorite books in the world now that I have finished reading it, I am wishing there was a second book or something so I can stop my mind wandering back to the story. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone under 10 or 11 but it's up to you to decide.

I Loved It so Much

This was a great story! Kept me on the edge of my seat! It was a great concept and very YA friendly!

This book is a fantastic escape from the humdrum average life. I was transported to a wonderfully sophisticated world of wit and magic. This book covered everything from day to day teenage life, complicated relationships, and dealing with parents, to how to deal with unexpected power. From start to finish this book kept me interested and on the edge of my seat! I PRAY that this becomes a series.

Simply magical!!!

Excellent story! And the narrator did a phenomenal job! I would recommend this book in a heartbeat.

The book itself is very beautiful, the idea as well. However, it just didn't dazzle. There were bits that were left wanting. I did enjoy the ending, not because the book was over, but because I liked how it ended.

This was a nice retelling of Pride and Prejudice with a touch of magic .. I quite enjoyed the atmosphere of the book, I really wish if I can visit the Stolzenburg Castle for it seems like it's a magical place .. but the story was kind of dull for my taste, I did feel bored at some point in the book and I felt the plot wan't going anywhere, I wished if there was more adventure than this, I liked Emma's character but Darcy wasn't as charming unfortunately.. their relationship felt so forced to me for some reason

The Narration was nice .. though I wished if she was more animated or had more voices for the characters

some parts were annoying- school aged boys and girls school. but not always annoying and I found myself wanting to learn more. I enjoyed the story, a little bit of suspense, mystery, Fairy Tail, no Cliffhangers, the author wrapped the story up nicely. There was cussing, I'd say about PG PG-13 and it did say the Lord's name in vain

pretty good
