Publisher's summary

"Are you sleeping with my daughter?"

Not a question I want to hear from my coach. The man holding my pro future in the palm of his hand.

The answer: "No, sir."

The real answer: "I’d sure as hell like to be."

Marisa’s been my best friend since third grade. And now, she needs my help - and a place to stay. Senior year was supposed to be the year to keep some distance until the season finished and my draft prospects were safe.

But resisting her is becoming impossible. Movie Thursdays under the blankets. Study sessions on my bed. Wild party nights where I kept any guy interested at bay with a single glare.

Her dad can bench me for the entire season, so she’s off-limits - for now.

She’s the only woman I’ve ever loved. And one heated night, I can’t stop fighting every cell in my body and can’t stop myself from sampling her sexy smile, sweet smell, and sultry curves.

We’re walking a tightrope with my future on the line. Let’s just make sure Coach doesn’t find out...

Good but not my favorite of the series

I thought this book would be my favorite of the series but I honestly found myself getting really annoyed with Marisa like where I was ready for the book to end. It was a cute story just very drawn out and a lot more drama then I felt was needed. The narrators were both great though! So far my favorite book of the series is Berk and Jules story but still the series it self was good!

Friends to lovers

This was the fourth book of Fulton U series that I have listend. This book was ok, but my favorite still is first book by the mile. I enjoyed it and wanted to know how LJ’s and Marissa’s story. But I had a hard time relating to Marissas character and I’m little bit bored by the formula this writer has in the plot. There are so many possibilities after all: why use the same every time?

The Fourth Time Charm

The Fourth Time Charm is the 4th book in the Fulton U series. This book is told from dual points of view from Marisa and LJ.

LJ and Marisa have been friends since they were young. They both have had rough pasts and have been there for each other. Marisa's father took off and her mother is addicted to alcohol and drugs. LJ's family is great, but they are not as rich as some, and his father had to have a life saving surgery which Marisa donated to. So now her mom feels that he owes her something.

After Marisa's apartment starts on fire she moves in with LJ and some members of the team. LJ and Marisa start to have feelings for each other. Her dad is the head coach of LJ's football team.

Marisa's father takes out her not wanting to see him on LJ. When Marisa finds out all heck breaks loose. I really loved the character growth between LJ and Marisa. Also her relationship with her dad. She found stuff out that was hidden from her growing up.

I really enjoyed this story, and hope there is at least one more book in the series, with another character we got to know well in this book :).

Everyone should have an LJ ❤️

I’ve so far really enjoyed Hughes’s Fulton U series. Maybe I’m just a sucker for college sports romances. We’ve been getting glimpses of LJ and Marissa throughout the previous books and also in Fearless King, from Kings of Rittenhouse. I love the cross over and look backs of previous characters, almost like a Epilogue teaser. LJ and Marissa’s story was a up and down rollercoaster, rather frustrating at times, especially Marissa. I definitely got the emotional feels in the end, especially the scenes between her father #tears. Narration was on point and just perfect! Hoping Hughes has one more book in there, to tie up all the characters.

Pretty Good

Good second chance romance story. I forgot how much I enjoyed the previous books in this series so I'm glad I finally decided to jump back in to it. Childhood friends Marissa and LJ finally decided to let the other know how they feel and stop sitting on the sidelines while life just passes them by as best friends.

Fantastic

This is a great story. There is so much to digest when listening to the story. There are so many pulls at the heart strings and it’s not your basic issues. This author has delivered another hit and the narrators are perfect. They help sell this story even more. I don’t like to give things away and of course you always wish you knew more. I love how all the stories before mesh so well with this one. I keep thinking the last book was my favorite until I read and hear the next. 👏👏👏 Can’t wait for the next book.

Loved this friends to lovers romance!

FINALLY! LJ & Marisa! I feel like I've waited for LJ and Marisa's story for years and years. I've been eagerly awaiting the childhood friends to lovers romance. LJ and Marisa are both head over heels for the other but neither realize the other is smitten. LJ is the best. He's just the best. He sacrifices and works hard for everyone he loves, almost to a fault. He has been friends with Marisa since the 3rd grade. That entire time she's kept secrets from him. Marisa hasn't had it easy. Her parents sucked growing up and LJ's family was her saving grace. They took care of her like she was one of their own. With so much baggage, you can see why they'd both be scared to take a chance on more. There's only so much they can withstand before they end up tumbling in bed. Can their relationship withstand adding sexual intimacy or will it bust? They've got a lot to work through... past and present problems are holding them both back.

The narration by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder was perfect. Clarke has this strong voice that's perfect for LJ. It isn't too strong but it holds enough weight that you feel it. Clarke pulls off LJ's conflicted emotions so well. Mixed with his wanton need, Clarke's narration was spot on in my opinion. Emma Wilder was amazing as Marisa. Marisa is dealing with just a turret of emotions. She has a huge ball of anger and there was times I could seriously FEEL that anger. But she also is struggling with so much pain. She's so hurt from her past. There was times she broke my heart. There was times I wanted to shake her. Her emotions were all over the place and Wilder really played her well.
