Mia Stanbury is the quintessential girl next door: smart, beautiful, and determined. She’s got it all going on.

Is it any wonder that she’s been on my radar for as long as I can remember? We’re talking middle school, folks. I’ll admit that I’ve made a few boneheaded mistakes as far as she’s concerned, but what can I say? I’m a dude. Sometimes I think with the wrong head. We’ll just chalk it up to one of the hazards of having a Y chromosome and leave it at that.

But I’m older now. More mature. Sort of.

Mia has spent all of high school and college keeping me at a distance. If she didn’t melt in my arms every time I put my hands on her, I’d almost think she was immune to my charms. Turns out that’s not the case. This is our last year at Wesley before we go our separate ways. Me to the NFL, her to law school. It’s now or never. I’m done playing games and allowing her to push me away.

I was her first, and I’ll damn well be her last.

Contains strong language and sexual situations intended for mature listeners.

this book was very back and forth and hard to follow at times. it was a good storyline but jumped from time to time. not very spicy and needed some more spice for me personally. the female narrator was on point but the male didn't line up for me. he sounded like an older man and didn't help me visual a sexy man. but all in all prob just a 4 star.

girl next to confusion

I enjoyed the book. It was fun. It was flirty. There was good banter and sexual tension. However, I struggled listening to the male narrator. James Anderson Foster has the voice of a distinguished professor. It didn’t seem like he even tried to sound like a 20 something football star. I’m pretty sure AI could have done a more convincing job (and I don’t want voice actors to lose their jobs to AI). Someone dropped the ball on his half of the audiobook. I hope for the authors sake this mistake isn’t repeated.

Flirty fun read with poorly cast MMC narrator

Great story line, female voice good. Male voice sounds 50 years to old. Like grandpapy jumped in for his great grandson. Yikes.

Great story! male voice… smh

I loved this book. The only thing that I didn’t like was the male voice sounded to grown for a high school/college aged guy.

Great book

The storyline was good. I just couldn’t get over the male narrator, he didn’t seem right for this story. This was a first time book for me from this author.

It was okay

Predictable, but worth 3.5 stars. I enjoyed listening to this story- the spice was well-timed to help move the story along without being too much. It reads like a fling for late teens to 20-somethings. I even listened while taking a nap on vacation, but was able to pick right back up. I’d recommend it, as a beach read!

Perfect beach read

This book was super cute but it felt more like an outline of a longer story, there are 4 main plot “challenges” the FMC/MMC face together and not a single one of them is addressed
1. What happens to the teacher that assaulted Beck
2. Why did Mia forgive her dad after saying she never would
3. What was the relationship with Becks Dad.
Im suddenly blanking on the 4th one but will update when I remember.

Kelsey Navarro crushed it but the Male voice actor sounded too old for this character
The story wasn’t very spicy and since I do judge a book by a cover I expected more spice and more plot
So like I said I didn’t hate it but it didn’t feel like the full story

Cute but not quite -SPOILERS

Loved this story BUT thought the male narrator sounded way to old to be a young man. The female narrator was really great but it was like she was in love with her father gross

Great story

I love stories like this. It was where the guy has loved the girl forever and the girl has loved the guy forever. At last they finally get together after years.

Love the story

I can’t believe this chic spent the majority of the book running and hiding from the MMC. Seriously! This may as well have been a high school based book. Not interested in the next book in the series…

Glad this was free
