About this listen

With all the hallmarks that made the Artemis Fowl series so popular, this hilarious spinoff adventure stars Artemis' younger brothers, along with a nefarious nobleman, a shadowy nun, and a fairy intern, and a maverick troll.

One week after their 11th birthday, the Fowl twins - scientist Myles, and Beckett, the force of nature - are left in the care of house security (NANNI) for a single night. In that time they befriend a troll who has clawed his way through the earth's crust to the surface. Unfortunately for the troll, he is being chased by a nefarious nobleman and an interrogating nun, who both need the magical creature for their own gain, as well as a fairy-in-training who has been assigned to protect him.

The boys and their new troll best friend escape and go on the run. Along the way they get shot at, kidnapped, buried, arrested, threatened, killed (temporarily), and discover that the strongest bond in the world is not the one forged by covalent electrons in adjacent atoms, but the one that exists between a pair of twins.

Brilliant!

As a longtime fan of the Fowl Universe, I’m excited about this new series. It’s witty in every sense of the word. Colfer’s writing and Parker’s narration are a magical combo. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next installment. In the meantime, I’m going to listen again and try to decide which Fowl twin is my favorite!

Great addition to the family of books

Love the story can't wait for the next! I miss good ol' Artemis Fowl and while this story isn't the same it is most definitely a good one. Fowl and Fairy, friends forever.

I miss butler

More light hearted and silly than Artemis series and that’s ok :) I do miss butler a lot and find myself wondering why the twins doesn’t have their own butler(s) too

great start

I loved this book!!! It is a great read and does the original series justice, without being repetitive. However it does great with the amazement and wonder that I love the of the atremis series. The fowl twins come into there own and show there similarities with there brother but also there differences.

Great sequel/spin-off to the series

I had been reading/listening to the Artemis Fowl series in my youth and revisited the series after many years. I loved it back then and still do now even as an adult. I listened to the whole series and was delighted to see that Eoin Colfer continued on with the Fowl series now following the Fowl twins. Loved listening to the book, made even better and more entertaining by the amazing narration of Nathaniel Parker. Would highly recommend

Much better than the last few of the main series

This one was a return to form, and in some ways even better than the original. It reads very much like an Artemis novel in that Miles is basically a carbon copy of his older brother, and there is another spunky fairy companion for him as well. However, we also get the addition of Beckett, the simple brother who is amazingly annoying on first meeting, but ended up as my favorite character of the book. If you liked the earlier books, I'd recommend giving this one a go.

Fun as usual

The Artemis Fowl books were a lot of fun and this series continues the tradition. The books are great when you don’t want to have to think much and just want to enjoy the ride. I’m way to old to be the core audience but I still found the book entertaining.
