Publisher's summary

A Seductive and Suspenseful Vampire Saga...

After 130+ years as a vampire, Mercy returns to her hometown of Exeter where she joins Prince Ladinas and his team of underground vampires to stop a host of ancient vampires who've returned from vampire hell.

Book 1: Bloody Queen:

Hell hath no fury like a witch-turned-vampire scorned...

My long-dead vampire brother has returned from hell. He's challenged my right to the vampire throne. He brought a hellhound with him.

Every time hellbeast kills, the bastard gets stronger. He's unstoppable. Stronger and faster than any vampire I've ever encountered.

Have I finally met my match?

On top of that, my ex-vampire lover is on a tear.

I need to rally every vampire I can find. I've teamed up with Prince Ladinas and the Vampire Underground. These vampires aren't much for the democratic processes of the Vampire Council. They need a bloody queen—and I'm just the bitch for the job.

ALSO INCLUDED:

Bloody Underground (#2): At least they had trials in Salem...

Bloody Retribution (#3): It's time to settle an ancient score...

Bloody Bastards (#4): Faerie gangs are at war...

Bloody Brilliance (#5): I'm done being the good girl...

You've met Mercy before in The Legacy of a Vampire Witch and The Blood Witch Saga. She's fought against devils and demons, insidious witches, and old-world vampires. When she returns to Exeter, where she grew up as a girl, she'll find enemies even bigger and badder than anything she's ever faced before.

A great series for fans of Anne Rice, Bella Forrest, or Stephenie Meyer to sink their fangs into. The Fury of a Vampire Witch features a dark and twisty romance, action that could even get a vampire's heart pumping, and a snarky badass heroine.

🌺Decent story, too much descriptive dialogue,

First I want to say I spend 5 of 7 days/ nights a week with audio books. And I appreciate every Authors sacrifice... whether I am compatible with their writting style or not individual characters telling it.)
My review;
🌺The fury or a Vampire Witch🌺
I found Mercy and her group of friends and cohorts a mixed bunch, each having their own agenda, the final end game to save humans and stop others who would obliterate humans and the planet was the main agenda but for a few whom were on the questionable list for Mercy's trust, were in it to save their own hides first. I read several reviews before writting this and found that I had a different opinion than most reviewers.

So here goes...
The story line is good abiet this is an extremely short read for me, I finished in the first day into the evening. My first impression came to me early on. The main character Mercy finds out just how complicated it is to be the queen, with the added complications of being a witch mixed with the rules and needs that come with her vampirism weighs on her throughout the story.
Mercy finds that threats abound, each decision she makes finds her with a new issue she has to work with and get past. But Mercy is a fighter who won't give up as she works with her crew backing her, they in the end defeat their adversaries. But you are left with the assumption hanging that along with their victory things will not stay that way for long.

🌺My impressions of the narration & writting of this story:

Mercy and her friends conversations were long and they seemed to be packing every detail telling the story into them. I have not read an author who had this writting style before and found myself wanting things to move on, some action to happen, but the story unfolded slowly amidst, long conversations.
The author unpacked so many detailed descriptions in the characters conversations with one another. I was waiting so long for some kind action to unfold, and the scene to change, but I found this was not just in the beginning but thruout the book. Conversations are not normally like this it is what gave me the impression I was on listening to a story teller.
I was unable to get close to or feel any empathy or endearment for the characters, or become immersed in the story. To me, it was like ( a story being narrated by 1 person and not individual characters telling it.)
This paranormal series did have humor, action, danger, & drama, but being unable to relate to the characters, I can honestly say, I appreciate being given the opportunity to read a new author, however it fell short endearing itself to me, falling short of being an enjoyable read.
Vampires and humans being hunted, the idea of a rip between worlds had much promise for being a great story, but it lacked the ability to endear the characters to me, and I couldnot become emersed in the story. This is a PG15, and I prefer stories without heated trysts inserted in every turn of the plot...

🪷NOTE: This author has good story line, and certainly has a talent for writing. However, Author who put time and pre-work into investigating details to enhance their stories are talented and each has their own unique style of writting...
Theophilus Monroe is a good Author, but her style of packing details into her characters conversations, causes me to be unable to connect with the characters...As I have read many other reviews of this 5 book set, my opinion is only one in many, others are charmed, endeared, love the characters and can't wait to enjoy more! Please don't take my review as a negative, Read this Authors books, decide for yourself. I appreciate and recognise the sacrifice and time devoted to writting these books. Time taken away from family, friends and loved ones to share the imagination & a piece of oneself with us.
Thank you for reading my review.

A Great Series

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it very enjoyable. Being queen is a that wonderful as Mercy quickly discovers. By someone needs to lead this underground force trying to keep the world safe. So with her friends she stands against those powers that would change the world to suit their desires. This is a very enjoyable series and getting it in one set is awesome.

book 1: Mercy is back and if you loved her before just watch out for this one. Mercy is on a mission to stop her brother and help her ex Ramon. A must read and/or listen.
book 2: A new yet old enemy is causing trouble where Mercy and gang have to stop before all heck breaks out. Loving this new adventure with Mercy.
book 3: Mercy and gang are trying to stop a war between seelie and unseelie.
book 4: Mercy has her hands full dealing with Oberon trying to take over but truly he isn't the biggest baddie and the is more at play that Mercy needs to stop before all is lost.
book 5: As Mercy slips and goes too far as Oblivion whispers in her ear and to an extent controls her actions, a hunter is her salvation when he manages to send Oblivion in the recesses of her mind. Mercy works with the hunter to take out a werewolf issue, new friends and old have to work together to finally put a end to Oblivion.

Vampire Badass

A fast-paced read with lots of action. Characters that have a wide range of personalities, humor, and ways of speaking. Each character has an in-depth history as well as strengths and weaknesses. The world building is fantastic and makes me want to read more about these characters.

A world very similar to our own with lots of hits to similarities we have had in our world. Jake the Ripper as a vampire. His history much like the real life verson. You can really tell the author took the time to get the history and details as accurate as they can with the knowledge availability. Not just with him but with lots of things within the book.

Supernatural creatures of all kinds and hopefully more as the series goes on. Vampires, fairies, witches, werewolves, dragon shifters, just to list a few of the awesome creatures in these stories.

A must-read if you love vampires, hell hounds, witches, fairies, and other kinds of supernatural creatures. Perfect read to add to your TBR as the spooky season comes around.

Great Book Series

Awesome first part to the Mercy series. Mercy is the top character for me that this author writes. She has all the traits that you want in a character you are reading. She has the humor and drama that a good character has. This series has a great storyline book to book that is so entertaining and enjoyable. The worldbuilding is done right that it sucks you in. The series has humor and drama that gives you the ups and downs of a good book. The narrator on this book series did an excellent job and is part of what makes listening to the series enjoyable. I received this as an ARC and this is my honest review.

Loved this one!

I always enjoy all of the books by this author that I have read, this is one of my tops so far! Mercy is my favorite character now!, we’ve heard of her here and there in his other series (that’s what is so cool about this author is that he has endless books that take place in the same world, and they overlap to some extent. But you don’t have to read every single series in-order, they are all their own standalone series’ and you can pick up wherever you feel like). I was glad when Mercy’s own story started to be written! This boxset is only half of the “Fury of a Vampire Witch” series, it continues in books 6-9 right where it left off in book 5.

Great Read

The Fury of a Vampire Witch (Books 1-5): A Paranormal and Urban Fantasy was a great read by Theophilus Monroe. This book consists of; Bloody Hell, Bloody Underground, Bloody Retribution, Bloody Bastards, and Bloody Brilliance. Bloody Hell (The Legacy of a Vampire Witch #1) by Theophilus Monroe. Mercy is a vampire and a witch. She has died twice. The first time was when she became a vampire. The second was when her father had her heart cut out of her chest. Luckily for Mercy, her guide in the craft, had other ideas. The essence of her heart is now bound to her brothers soul. The Order of the Morning Dawn will stop at nothing to make sure she's eliminated. Mercy must go to hell and capture her brother's soul if she wants to survive. Bloody Underground (The Fury of a Vampire Witch, Book 2) was a great read by Theophilus Monroe. Vampires are being hunted down and burned at the stake. The man leading the hunt pretends to be a "reverend". He has a deadly secret that Mercy wants to uncover. They have to fight but are also afraid to give him exactly what he wants. Bloody Retribution (The Fury of a Vampire Witch, Book 3) was a great read by Theophilus Monroe. Mercy is looking to settle an ancient score. Her human father has returned from the grave, still hoping to finish the job of killing her. She is looking for who brought him back and wants her dead. Mercy is hell bent on spoiling their plans. Bloody Bastards (The Fury of a Vampire Witch, Book 4) was a great read by Theophilus Monroe. Mercy has fought against devils, demons, insidious witches, and old-world Vampires. But when she returns to Exeter, she finds enemies bigger than shes ever faces before. The Faerie gangs are at war, with the Seelie and Unseelie forces tearing each other apart. Humanity ends up caught in the crossfire. Bloody Brilliance (The Fury of a Vampire Witch, Book 5) was a great read by Theophilus Monroe. Mercy has fought against devils, demons, insidious witches, and old-world Vampires. But when she returns to Exeter, she finds enemies bigger than shes ever faces before. Mercy is done sacrificing for everyone else after one betrayal too many. She knows that with her partner she is strong enough that no one is going to stop her. The thing she cant seem to figure out is why her dragon partner has so much control over her. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Horrible

Everything about this series is HORRIBLE. The narration is cartoonish, the plot (what plot). The novel moves at a snail's pace and is lacking in quality.
